When Maeve decided to leave her abusive father behind, and begin living on the streets, she has an encounter with a couple of goons. Who, in her opinion, resemble boulders. Drugged and left for dead, mysterious figures come to her aid. When they take her to a mysterious hiding spot, she uncovers the name of the group that she is at mercy.

Unexpectedly, she makes friends, Evelyn, the secret keeper. Jade, the expert thief. And Nora, the jester. Together, they find secrets buried deep within the streets of downtown Chicago. But when a series of deaths directly involves Maeve and Nora, can she find the strength to follow through with the investigation? Or will she fall victim to the horrors consuming the people around her more and more?

Maeve must find the strength within herself, and within her friends, to overcome one of the greatest and most horrible things, she will have to venture through.

Excerpt from The Gatherings:

"Well, show us!" I hear Nora whisper. Only now do I turn my head in their direction. Jade's head quickly looks in my direction, then back to Evelyn's. She shrugs and Jade raises an eyebrow. I get the feeling they are haveing some sort of non-verbal conversation, and I am not included. Jade lets out a sigh and moves her sleeve. I now realize what my fingers brushed, and now, it seems so obvious that I wonder how I didn't realize what it was before.

It's a knife.

Small enough where is can hardly be detected under a sleeve, but certainly deadly. It sits inside a small sheath, as to not cut the owners wrists by accident. We all crowd around her as to not let anyone see and she removes the sheath. The blade is silver, along the base is minuscule carvings. The hilt is wrapped in black leather, and it rests comfortably in her hand. Evelyn lets out an awed whistle and Nora sniggers.

"How did you get it?" I ask. Jade looks at me with a triumphant smile.

"Nicked it." She replies.

"From where?" I challenge.

"None of your business newbie." She fires back at me in a snarky tone.
