CHAPTER 6-------
Jeanette-age 17. I sat in my apartment, sipping a Vanilla Coke, watching the rain fall down my large window. The apartment Jacques had given me was an extreme luxury. I was pretty happy. I didn't plan on going back to the island. I was lined up for photo shoots all this week. Life was good. In the back of my mind, I wondered where Aaron was. He probably had gone back by now. I could go chase him, but that would mean leaving this life. I heard a knock on the door. It was probably Jacques, assigning me a new job for this week. When I opened the door, I gasped. It was Aaron.
*** Aaron-age 18. I had found her. After searching every model agency in New York, I had found her. "Hi," I said looking at her. She looked beautiful. "Aaron!" she squealed and hugged me, "where have you been?" "Looking for you," I said blushing slightly. "You are so sweet! Come in! Can I get you a Cola?" I asked. "No, I'm fine," I said, "so a model, huh? I should've known." She smiled, looked hesitant, then said, "Yeah." After a silence, she looked into my eyes. "I missed you," she spilled. I came in close to her, and gave her a passionate kiss. "I have to talk to you," I said.
*** Jeanette-age 17. I wanted to tell him I was not who he thought I was. I was a vampire. I just couldn't tell him. When he said he needed to talk to me, I just nodded. "I want you to come back to the island with me, and be my mate," he smiled. My eyes widened, and then I realized I had gone over my head. I was taking advantage of him. He deserved better. "I can't," I said, catching a breath, "no I can't. I-I-I- you need to go." "What?" his eyes filled with sorrow, "Why?" I instant felt a tang of guilt. "I'm sorry. This can't work," I said, swallowing my pride. He turned around, and headed out the door, sadness and anger in his eyes. "I thought you were different," he sighed, shaking his head. I felt myself tear up. "Just go," I said. He walked out of the door, with anger.
*** Aaron-age 18. It was my fault. I had rushed things. Alpha will hate me. I wanted this girl more than anything, but it was over. There was nothing more to do. I wanted to run, prove myself, and show her I was good enough. But I couldn't. I stepped out into the rain, feeling the rain, taking every drop as a slash of pain, punishing me. I was halfway down the street, when I heard a scream. "WAIT!" Jeanette cried. I turned around, raindrops dripping down my face. "I haven't been honest with you," she cried. I looked at her, rising an eyebrow. "Come back," she said, "I have something to tell you." "What?" I said, "Tell me now. I don't want to have to leave again. She swallowed. "I'm a vampire," she said.
