Awakening and Disappearing

Maddie's POV

~Two weeks later~

   Lacey hasn't woken up, and I haven't heard anything from the lads. I'm starting to regret not telling Niall about my step-dad... He's the only one I could've talked to. He deserves to know the truth... My guilt and frustration at myself swirled around, leaving me confused. My step-dad never made a come back-well that's mostly because I haven't stepped foot out of this house since two weeks ago. Malena loved my painting, but my fear of my step-dad coming back scares the heck out of me, so I wouldn't dare go out into public. Malena checks the hospital frequently, to see if Lacey's awake, and most of the time, she's asked to leave by the nurse... Lacey's parents SERIOUSLY don't want us to see her. There are no signs of her able to wake up, and it just makes Louis and I more at fault... Since I haven't talked to the lads since that day, I don't know how they're doing. I tried calling Niall a million times, but I don't know if it's because Louis isn't doing any better, maybe, or because I hurt him. I decided to call him again as my finger tapped his contact.

Niall's POV

  I haven't talked to Maddie in a while. I don't know if it's because I'm mad at her, or if because I can't bare to hear her voice. Her voice...I miss her voice... Louis' not doing any better...neither is Lacey. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. Maddie was calling, again. I thought it over and I let it ring until the sound died. Of course, I felt bad, but I didn't feel like talking to her.

"You're not going to call her back?" came the voice of the lad I haven't talked to in a little while.

"L-Louis?" I choked out.

"I think I'm better..." he trailed off, knowing my thoughts.

"LOUIS!" called Harry.

"Yea?" he answered.

"MADDIE JUST CALLED AND MALENA SAID LACEY'S AWAKE!!!" Harry yelled. Our eyes widened and we wasted no time running out into the limo.

"Wait, why are we going to Blue Lake? This is where Ma-." too late. My sentence was cut off when Maddie slammed the door shut and slid in the empty seat next to me.

"Haven't seen you lads in a while!" she laughed, "I missed you guys!". She gave everyone hugs. 'Maybe she was rejoicing because Lacey's awake?' I thought. While I sorted out my thoughts, I heard her say, "Especially you!" before she stole a kiss. The lads whooped and laughed, while she turned bright red. "What? I can't show any affection towards my boyfriend just because I'm in front of his lads?" she asked flailing her arms around. Everyone chorused in laughs and then we arrived at the hospital. I could practically feel Louis smiling, excited to his girl. Maddie was breathing in and out, maybe nervous to see her BFF again.

Maddie's POV

  I was nervous to see Lacey again. What would happen? Is she okay? I felt a hand on my shoulder as we walked towards the entrance. Niall smiled at me reassuringly and I smiled back. He was acting kinda weird earlier... What's the problem? I decided to shake it off as we walked to the front desk. Liam did his thing, and we were walking to room 005,where Lacey was. I was surprised since they asked Malena to leave...maybe they've forgiven us? We arrived to the room and Louis excitedly pushed it open.

"LACE-!" he started. We were all surprised to see a bare white hosptial room. There was a note on the bed.(Play the vid!!!) It simply read:

You'll never find us. Even if you do, Lacey won't remember you...

 We all stared at the note and Louis fell to the ground. I felt tears stinging at my eyes. Where's Lacey? What do they mean "Lacey won't remember you"?  Tears spilled out of my eyes and onto the ground. Niall turned me around and hugged me, holding me close to his chest. The lads patted Louis' backs, trying to comfort him. He must be in a lot of pain, Lacey's gone and we don't where she went or why she went there. Louis yelled out and we went back to what happened two weeks ago. Louis banged his fists on the floor and I cried into Niall's shirt. 

Lacey's gone, and we don't know where the bloody heck she went... even if we find her, she won't remember ANY of us...
