11: Sydney!!

I slowly open my eyes to see an unfamiliar room. It's still dark except for a glow coming from behind me. I look back to see Joey on his laptop. Did I fall asleep? For how long?

"Joey?" I say groggily.

He turns his focus towards me now. "Claire! sorry I didn't want to wake you. You looked so peaceful."

I sit up and fumble with my hair which is now tangled on one side. "How long was I asleep for?" I ask quietly.

"Only a few hours, not long."

"Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean too." I quickly say.

He smiles. "No it's fine I know it's been a long night."

I smile and swing my legs off of the bed. "But I'm sorry if I kept you from sleeping."

"Hah. I'm not tired don't worry about it."

I want to start laughing because I know how awkward I am. I just smile, "I guess I should go now."

"Uh wait." He get up off the bed and stands. He grabs an object and hands it to me.

"You don't want to forget your phone again."

I smile and take the phone from his hands. "Thanks Joey, I mean for letting me talk."

"Anytime" he smiles at me.

He lead me out and to the parking lot. I wave and hop into my car.

"Your soooo crushing" speaks Sydney as she sit on the edge of my bed.

"And your soooo over exaggerating" I reply, mimicking her tone.

"Oh stop, you fell asleep in his bed!"

I roll my eyes. "It's not like we had sex or anything gosh, he's just really nice and he let me talk, without adding to the story." I raise my eyebrows at her.

"Sorry,but come on, he's gorgeous."

I roll my eyes again "I guess there something wrong with being friends with a boy. Oooh! a boy OMG there perfect together, ahhh" I make my voice high pitched and wave my hands around.

"Oh Claire, you can be awful funny."

"Mhm" I mumble.

Sydney gets up off of my bed and approached the window. She rips open the curtains, sending blinding sun lights through the room.

I cover my eyes quickly. "What are you a vampire?" Sydney responds to my actions.

"What are you? trying to blind me!"

I hear her laugh. "Come on! it's beautiful! Let's go the the beach! you love the beach!"

I grin and look out the window to the vast blue sky above the beautiful city.

I feel Sydney touch my arm. "Let's go, maybe it will cheer you up."

I smile, "you know Sydney. I'm only unhappy because of you."

"Oh stop." she smiles and I get up to grab a bathing suit.

I hear the door bell ring. It's Sydney back in her beach wear with a girl I recognize.

"Claire, this is Kalel! you've met her before, right?"

I stop for a second, Kalel. Joey mentioned her yesterday, they used to live together with Kalel's boyfriend. "Oh yeah! Kalel, hi, I'm Claire."

I reach for her hand, but she comes out and hugs me. I, being the awkward person I am, didn't know what to do. I hugged her back and smiled.

"Claire! Joey told me about you! Him and Anthony are out for the day and he talked about you and Sydney and I decided to call. I haven't seen Sydney in so long and I wanted to really meet you!"

She declares smiling and I smile back. "Sane for you, you seemed so nice!"

I examine her outfit, she's seems really fashionable and I'm in shorts and a tribal shirt.

"Ok so let's head out, were taking my car" Sydney says holding her car keys up.

I smile and hear Kalel exclaim "ok!"

I grab my bag and head out the door behind them.
