A skeleton?

Zane's POV
As soon as we left, an almost unbearable blast of cold air hit us. Cole yelped. "Zane! W-why'd you make it so c-cold all of a sudden!!" I sighed. "This isn't me." We stepped out of the ruins, Cole in the back. There were tall trees that I identified as spruce lining the snow covered path. It was quiet, wind the only sound. Almost too quiet. Suspicious, I kept walking. The others followed. We soon came across a large branch on the ground. "Aw, cool!" Kai exclaimed. "A better weapon then this little stick!" He went to lift it, but immediately failed and fell face first. I laughed. Kai growled at me. "Let's keep going guys." Lloyd pushed. We stepped over the branch and kept walking.
Snap!
I whirled around. There was nothing there, but the branch was broken into splinters. Cole looked uneasy. "Keep going, keep going!" He said nervously. I listened, not wanting to meet the thing behind us. A few paces later, we came to a break in the trees on one side. Nevertheless, We kept going.
Crunch crunch...
Footsteps. Okay, this was starting to freak me out. I turned around just in time to see a short, shady figure. Then it disappeared. "Gogogogogo!!!" Kai urged. A few minutes of running later, we came to a gate looking thing across a small bridge. Something compelled me to stop. More footsteps behind us. Cole, being the last one, froze up. The shadowy figure came close to him.
"H U M A N..." it said in a low voice.
"D O N T  YOU  K N O W   H O W  T O   G R E E T   A   N E W   P A L?" Cole was sweating. "T U R N   A R O U N D   A N D   S H A K E    M Y    H A N D." Cole turned slowly. The figure put out a hand. Cole reached out tentatively.
Pffffffffffbbbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrttttt....
The figure was revealed to be a... skeleton? He had two white dots that seemed to be floating in his eye sockets. He was wearing a blue sweater with a white shirt under it, with black basketball shorts and pink slippers. He started to laugh. Cole's expression changed from scared to positively annoyed. "The old whoopie cushion in the hand trick! It's always funny." The skeleton said, a slight New York accent to his voice. He looked at me. I had kept a straight face while the others around me were laughing. "That's your cue to laugh. Or.... emote at all?" I kept the straight face. He mumbled under his breath, "jeez lady... you sure know how to pick em..." He then turned all cheery again. "Anyways, your humans right? That's hilarious! Name's sans. Sans the skeleton."  Kai nodded, still holding in snickers. "I'm actually supposed to be on watch for humans right now, but y'know.... I'm not really interested in capturing anybody. Now my brother, Papyrus..." he paused a second. "He's a human hunting FANATIC." Sans glanced over my shoulder. "Actually, I think that's him over there. Here, go through this gate thingy. Yeah, that's right, go on through. My bro made the bars too wide to stop anyone."
