I rushed back home and I seen that Zayda was knocking on the front door calling my name. "Sade open up I got to pee!" she said still beating the door. I guess mama ain't made it back home yet. "I'm right here big head, hold your horses" I told her while I was unlocking the door. Once I opened the door Zayda rushed in with her knees knocking together running into the bathroom. "Zayda hurry up so we can go pay the light bill" I told her walking into my room. I saw that my room was rummaged around. I looked down and the shoe box was on the ground. I searched in my closet and my stash was not found. Well I guess we can live without lights for a while, thank goodness for the gas. I will need the hundred for some food.

"I'm all done" Zayda said hopping around pulling my hand leading me outside. I went to go cash my check and me and Zayda got something to eat. Zayda and I made it back home and I see mama smoking her crack through the window. I held Zayda up by unlocking the door slowly but loudly so mama could hear that we was coming it.

"I seen that she hid the pipe and her crack. "Mommy" Zayda said running towards her giving her a hug. I felt so disgusted towards her for even hugging Zayda when she is doing wrong. "Go in the room" she told Zayda. "But mommy I miss you" Zayda said still holding on to her. "I said go into your room now!" mama said pushing Zayda from off of her. You could see that Zayda eyes began to water up. Zayda went into her room and closed the door. "Mama now why? You ain't got to yell at her?" I said feeling betrayed for my little sister. "Shut the hell up; where was my pipe?" she asked me giving me the most evil face ever. "Mama it was on the table and I put it in the cabinet for Zayda's sake" I said. "Quit touching my stuff!" she told me pulling out a bag of crack.

Once I tried to hide her crack from her but it did not work out right. "Mama, where is my money?" I asked still upset. "DON'T YOU DARE SAY "MY MONEY" IT'S MY MONEY I CARRIED YOU FOR 9 MONTHS!" she yelled and I know Zayda heard us, poor baby sitting in the dark in her room because her drug addict mother took the light bill money. "I was going to pay the light bill, and look us sitting in the dark with candles" I said and I felt a bash in my face from her punching me. I looked and wanted to punch her so badly but I kept thinking back from the commandments and the belief of your days being shortened fighting your parents. I couldn't do anything I just ran my bath water and got me and Zayda things ready for the next day.
