Marco was stuck. Stuck in some sort of twisted alternate dimension with only one way out. Find Hekapoo. Find his scissors. How hard could it be?
Extremely hard.
Marco sighed to himself and started walking through the wooded area of the dimension Hekapoo dumped him in. He had to get organized. There had to be a village or something around here somewhere, right? He needed a map. He needed food and other supplies.
He didn't have time for this.
Marco was walking for what seemed like hours. His legs were tired, and he was starting to sweat through his red hoodie. He groaned to himself and leaned against a trunk of a tree, frustrated. He was lost. Great. This was going to take forever!
"You look lost."
He looked up, it was a girl! Marco furrowed his brows, she was floating. Upside down. She had brown hair pulled into two messy buns on either side of her head. She looked a bit older than him, he guessed about 17 or 18. Bright blue eyes looked back at him.
"I'm not lost," he retorted.
"Yes you are. You've been going around in circles for the past two hours. Didn't you realize that?"
Marco groaned, "Ugh! This is so stupid! I'll never get out of this place!"
The girl hovered over to him, still upside down. "What are you talking about?"
"I don't know if you haven't noticed," Marco gestured to himself, "But I'm not from here! I'm from another dimension, but this crazy lady, Hekapoo, took my scissors and now I have to get them back or I'll be stuck in this place forever."
The girl laughed, revealing perfect white teeth, "Dude, Hekapoo is a savage. You ain't ever getting those scissors back. Sorry, bro."
"Well," Marco stood up straight, walking away, "If you aren't going to be any help, I've got to get going. I've already wasted too much time."
"Wait!"
Marco turned to the girl, an annoyed look on his face. "What?" he snapped.
"The town is this way," she pointed to her left.
Marco's face softened, "Oh." He turned and started walking in the direction the upside-down-girl was pointing. "Thanks."
She followed him, still floating in mid-air. "Hey, what's your name?"
"Marco."
"Nice to meet you, Marco," the girl grinned, "I'm Salia!"
He gave Salia a bit of a side-glance. "Um... why are you floating? Can't you walk?"
"Oh. My legs don't work."
"Huh?"
Salia flipped over right-side up, pointing at the limp legs underneath her. "I was born like this."
Marco suddenly felt bad. He shouldn't have said anything, he didn't mean to be so rude. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to-"
Salia cut him off with a wave of her hands, "No, no. It's fine, really. People always ask."
Marco sighed, "Do you think you could help me? I need to get to the village you were talking about."
"Sure!" her face lit up, "I can take you there. I think I know someone who might be able to help you find Hekapoo."
"Great! Thank you!" Marco grinned.
"Don't worry about it," the girl motioned for him to follow her, "Follow me, I know a short cut."
