"How's it goin' up there, Uncle Joseph?" Salia yelled from the back of the caravan.

"Uh, well, we're still being chased!" He called back.

"We know!" shouted the girl, looking back out the caravan. The giant was catching up to them. They were falling back. They needed to find a way to loose him.

That was when a scream came from outside. Marco, Salia, and Ren stuck their heads out the door to see what was going on.

Hekapoo.

She was attacking the giant!

Marco flipped out, "What the heck?! Where did she even come from?!"

Hekapoo used her flame magic, and shot a ball of fire into the giant's eye. He screamed and fell to the ground, clutching his eye. The giant's fall sent the ground shaking again. Hekapoo then ran towards the caravan and jumped into it, "Go! Go! Go!"

Joseph slapped the reigns, "Faster!"

"We heard her!" yelled Hun the horse.

"What are you doing here?" Marco looked at Hekapoo with a confused look on his face.

"I can't let you die on me, Marco," she smirked, slapping him on the back of the head, "There's still work to do."

Marco rubbed the back of his head, "Sheesh! Do you have to keep doing that?!"

Hekapoo shrugged, "Can't help it."

Then she walked over to Ren, "Hey, big guy, long time no see."

Ren frowned, "The longer the better, I say."

Hekapoo rolled her eyes, "Don't be like that, it's not like you wanted to leave," she pointed at Salia, "You're too busy with this little girlfriend of yours."

Salia frowned, "Who said anything about being his girlfriend?"

Now it was Marco's turn to roll his eyes, "Yeah right, you were all over him yesterday."

Hekapoo laughed, "Oh my, how awkward."

Ren stomped his foot, "Shut up!"

The caravan suddenly stopped. Joseph jumped down from his spot and went inside the caravan, "Okay, whose she? And what is she doing in my caravan?"

"This is Hekapoo," Marco explained, "She's the reason I'm here."

"She's your mom?"

"No!" Marco snapped, "She took my dimensional scissors and sent me to this dump!"

"Hey now," Hekapoo scolded, "Don't insult my home world."

"Hey," Marco looked over at her, "Are you a clone or the real one?"

"Clone. Why?"

Marco grinned and reached over to put out her light, but she tried to get away. Ren stopped her just before she got away, holding her by the arms. Marco stood on his tiptoes and blew out she light. Soon she disappeared.

Salia pumped her fist in the air, "Heck yeah! We got our first one!"

Marco gave a large grin and pulled out his notebook. He opened to the first page and crossed off the first drawing of a flame, which Salia had drawn for him.

Joseph wiped some sweat off of his brow and said, "We're almost to the gate. Do we keep going?"

Marco nodded, "Heck yes. Let's catch some Hekapoos!"

"Heka-yes!" laughed Ren.

Maybe this wouldn't be too bad. Marco had his new friends with him, and they were one step closer.

He was one step closer to home.
