Gender and sex are often confused between each other.
Sex- correlates with the reproductive organs a living organism has. (Male, Female, and Intersex)
Gender- correlates with how someone feels they identify with not physically, but mentally.
You can have female reproductive organs and identify as a gender that does not go with it.
Someone whose gender matches their sex is called cisgender.
