Hikari stood and watched as Eijun and Miyuki pitched to each other back and forth, from mound to home plate.

'Why do I have this feeling like this is foreshadowing something....'Nanami thought



Nanami then looked over to her friend Hikari who was watching the three closely.

'What exactly is your part in this bestie?'Nanami asked



Hikari was waiting for this pitch that her mother had been describing when all of a sudden Eijun let lose a ball that made her gasp.

'That ball.....His pitching stants is that of a rookie, but his power is unheard of....Miyuki how are you going to do this?'Hikari asked

"You should be warmed up by now. Let's get started."Miyuki shouted throwing the ball back to Eijun.

Azuma stepped up to plate and said:

"Your pitching's a joke. You sure talk big, but it's average at best. I'll send it flying out of the park at best."

Miyuki couldn't help but intervene.

"He's still in Junior High. Maybe go a little easy on him?"

"In your dreams."Azuma said "I always swing with everything I have. I don't care if he is in middle school!"

Miyuki looked over to Hikari and smirked. Hikari sent her own smirk back, and then Miyuki winked at her.

'That idiot wanted Azuma to go at his full power...Mi-chan you are one sneaky jerk.' Hikari thought



"I really like that about you Azuma."Miyuki said

"SHUT IT!"Azuma replied

Hikari could only giggle. Miyuki was getting Azuma so flustered like it was second nature to him. Hikari then noticed that Eijun was taking deep breaths.

'Poor Eijun, it must be hard to come to a new school like this on a visit...then it must be worse to hae my mom force you into a match with a graduating senior.' Hikari thought 'I gotta work on moms people skills. They might get better if I limit her time with Miyuki.'

"YOU LOOK TO SERIOUS KID! JUST THROW IT!"Azuma shouted

Hikari felt herself sigh.

'Idiot, why is all of Seidou's member's idiots?'Hikari thought 'Well except three.'



Hikari watched as Miyuki put on his mask. Nanami was now watching this match closely. Nanami slowly got up and walked to Hikari.

"Ne, Hikari why is Miyuki so static face?"Nanami asked

"He's probably thinking Eijun looks really stiff. When you're stiff our upset you won't be able to pitch with even half your strength."Hikari replied

"So what will Miyuki do?"Nanami asked

"Knowing Miyuki he will try to loosen Eijun up." Hikari replied

'You say you are starting to hate baseball, but you know these guys better than they know themselves.' Nanami thought



The two girls watched as Eijun got ready to pitch. However, right before Eijun threw the ball Azuma was getting ready to swing. In that second of movement Eijun threw the ball at the ground. Hikari gasped when she saw what the boy was doing.

"Hikari what just happened?"Nanami asked

"Amazing..."Hikari whispered

Azuma started to laugh and said:

"You're so scared that your arm's not swinging through! If you're so afraid to pitch, just say so!"

Nanami noticed that neither Hikari nor Miyuki had moved an inch since the ball had been thrown.

"Hikari what are you and Miyuki thinking? What just happened!?"Nanami asked

At this second Nanami wished she understood baseball just a bit more.

"We're thinking that Azuma is wrong. Ei-chan changed is aim the moment he let go."Hikari replied

"He changed is aim?"Nanami asked

About that time Miyuki stood up, took his mask off, and yelled:

"TIME!"

Azuma was confused and so was Hikari.

"Hikari come here for a second!"Miyuki called

Hikari ran over to the two boys.

"You threw that one into the ground on purpose."Miyuki said

"Why?"Hikari asked

"I felt like he would've hit if I threw there."Eijun replied

Hikari and Miyuki were shocked at this reply. But then the two smirked.

"Interesting."Miyuki started

'Oh lord. Here we go again.'Hikari thought



"Let me get this straight. You'd rather throw a ball than have him hit it?"Miyuki asked

"You got a problem?"Eijun asked

Miyuki started to laugh, and Hikari felt Yuki's pain.

"You're absolutely right!"Miyuki cried laughing

"You see, that was actually Azuma's favorite location."Miyuki replied

Hikari and Eijun gasped in shock.

"You see you were so stiff so I thought you'd loosen up if you got obliterated once."Miyuki said patting Eijun on the shoulder. "If you had thrown there, he definitely would've hit it."

Hikari and Eijun couldn't believe what they were hearing.

"I like you, kid."Miyuki replied "Let's slay that monster together from here on out."

"TOGETHER YEAH RIGHT!"Eijun cried "I BET YOU'RE ON HIS SIDE!"

"Lear to accept the good will of others."Miyuki replied

"Miyuki there is no good will with you, at least not without a price."Hikari replied

"Now now."Miyuki said and put a hand on Eijun's shoulder

"HEY DON'T TOUCH ME!"Eijun cried

Hikari raised up her leg and kicked Miyuki on the butt.

"Miyuki, stop playing with Eijun."

Miyuki squatted on the ground holding his butt.

"Ow, Hika-chan."Miyuki replied

"Anyways Ei-chan what can you pitch?"Hikari asked

"I pitch fastballs for life!"Eijun replied to the two

Hikari and Miyuki shared a look of confusion and dread.

"Seriously?"Miyuki and Hikari asked

Soon Hikari and Miyuki started to laugh. This had everyones attention. Not only did this boy get Miyuki to laugh, but Hikari also. Everyone was now amazed at this stupid boy.

"That's amazing!"Hikari cried

"I'm even more motivated now!"Miyuki replied with a laugh

"Why you! You're making fun of me!"Eijun yelled

"Just leave it all to me."Miyuki said throwing an arm around Eijun's shoulders

"Miyuki knows his batting habits very well."Hikari replied

"It's got nothing to do with you."Eijun replied

Hikari knew this was going to be a key moment between the two. For a pitcher not to trust his or her catcher is failure for the team before a game even begins.

"This is between me and him!"Eijun cried grabbing Miyuki's arm

"Hu? Is that how you see it?"Miyuki asked

Hikari walked over and put an arm on Eijun's shoulder. The boy looked at her.

"If that's how you see it do you plan on playing baseball by yourself?"Hikari asked

It seemed like with that one sentence something snapped in Eijun. Miyuki smirked then said:

"I don't know what kind of baseball you've been playing, but the best pitches are works of art produced by the pitcher and the catcher working together as one."

"Works of art?"Eijun asked

Miyuki took his arm off of Eijun's shoulder. Eijun starred at the two people in front of him.

Miyuki placed a hand on Eijun's shoulder and said:

"I'll draw out your full potential. You just need to trust my mitt and throw your best pitches. It's that simple. We'll be great partners."Miyuki replied

"You two are going to give me grey hairs before I'm old enough to have them...but for some reason I know when you, Ei-chan, are on the mound and you Mi-chan are at home plate a miracle can occur. So right now I'm going to trust in that miracle. Good luck you two."Hikari said as she ran back to Nanami.

Miyuki watched her go, then he tapped Eijun on the chest with his glove.

"Let's get cracking, partner."Miyuki replied then started to walk off

"Wait a second..."Eijun replied

Miyuki stopped and turned to him.

"What is her position on the team?"Eijun asked

"Hi-chan?"Miyuki asked

"Yeah."Eijun replied

"I guess you can say she's our light...we've all had moments of doubt like you just had and well Hikari's always been there to pull us out of it...speaking of witch you're not stiff anymore...right?"Miyuki said

"No, I feel calm."Eijun replied

"You've been touched by the power of Seidou's light."Miyuki said then walked back to the home plate.

Hikari wondered what Eijun had asked Miyuki. Because as Miyuki walked off he had a smirk on his face, and Eijun looked shocked. Miyuki finally made it back to home plate, when he turned to Azuma and said:

"Sorry for the wait."

Azuma started to swing his bat back and forth while saying:

"That took forever! I was falling asleep."

Hikari noticed something had changed between Eijun and Miyuki.

"It's almost like they believe in each other."Hikari said

"What do you mean?"Nanami asked

However, Nanami's question went unanswered as Eijun started to pitch again.

"His shoulders have loosened."Hikari said

Once Eijun let lose of the ball it flew perfectly into Miyuki's mitt. Once it was in his mitt Azuma looked shocked at the mitt.

"That's a strike.....right?"Miyuki said with a cocky attitude "Nice pitch the batter didn't even move!"

Miyuki stood up and threw the pitch to Eijun.

Hikari finally couldn't stand her excitement and jumped in the air and screamed:

"Wait to Go Ei-chan! Mi-chan!"

The said boys turned and smiled at Hikari and she back at them.

'No way...'Nanami thought



Miyuki moved his matt.

'He thinking that he can work on Eijun's speed problem later, but right now he's going to test Eijun's ability to throw to other parts.' Hikari thought



Nanami looked at her best friend and noticed she was in her own world. With this Nanami smirked. Eijun threw the pitch and Azuma hit it. However, it was out of bounds. Hikari could only smile at the two boys and their teamwork.

'This is amazing. Even the pros don't have this good of communication between their catcher and pitchers.' Hikari thought



Hikari giggled as she noticed Azuma slowly starting to lose his cool.

'Mi-chan Azuma is slowly falling for your plan.' Hikari thought 'but something is weird about his throw....I need to ask Mi-chan about it later.'



Hikari and Miyuki locked eyes then both of them looked to Hikari's mother who smirked at the two.

'Shoot, she has me and Mi-chan to...mom how many people are you going to capture in your web?'Hikari asked herself



Hikari could only watch as Eijun kept pitching...

"What is he?"Hikari asked

Nanami's heart was pounding...she didn't hate baseball nor did she love it, but in a match like this even she couldn't turn her eyes away.

'Miyuki-Senpai, Eijun, Hikari, and the rest of the Seidou regulars I wounded how far they could go.' Nanami thought

Hikari smiled and started to giggle as Eijun started to become super happy. She also couldn't help but giggle at Miyuki's shocked expression. However, it was at that moment that Miyuki changed positions once more. Hikari noticed that Eijun got tensed.

'Ei-chan just calm yourself, and throw with everything you got. Mi-chan will catch it..I just know he will.' Hikari thought



Hikari and everyone watched as the ball and Azuma showed faced off for the last time...however, only those that were the 'geniuses' of the group saw what had happened....

'No way...Azuma missed the ball...Mi-chan.' Hikari thought



"Nice pitch."Miyuki said to Eijun.

A little before practice ended Hikari, Nanami, and Miyuki (against his will) escorted Eijun to the train station.

"Are you sure you don't want us to go with you?"Nanami asked

"Yeah, I'll be fine."Eijun replied

"Do you have a cell phone Eijun?"Nanami asked

Eijun nodded and pulled it out. Nanami grabbed it and quickly typed in three different numbers then handed it back to Eijun. Eijun looked at his directory.

Hikari walked up to Eijun and held out her hand.

"Ei-chan, I hope I get to see you next school term in Seidou...It will be fun being classmates and teammates. Also, I would love to see more of your amazing pitching. Just call me and I'll tell my mom."

Eijun smiled and shook Hikari's hand. However, he didn't say anything about coming to Seidou. With that he got on the train and went home. Nanami said goodbye to Miyuki and Hikari and with that the two started on their way back to Seidou.

"Hey Mi-chan."Hikari said

"Hm?"Miyuki asked

"That boy....he's not a normal pitcher is he?"Hikari asked

"Nope, not by a long shot...but Hi-chan...I have a feeling that we'll be seeing more of him."Miyuki replied

The two were quite till they came back upon Seidou's gates.

"Oh by the way sorry about leaving my uniform in your dorm."Hikari said

Miyuki turned away quickly and Hikari entered the gate. Miyuki couldn't stop thinking about what had happened after he found the uniform.

*Flashback*



Practice had eneded and a tired Miyuki walked into his room.



"Why did I have to run so much?"Miyuki asked



"It's because you tease Hika-chan while daddy Yuki is near." Ryosuke said



Everyone laughed at that.



"Alright guys turn in we have a long day tomorrow."Their captain said



Miyuki walked to his dorm alone. His roommates had already gone to the showers. When Miyuki reached his room he noticed a stack of clothes. His face became flushed when he realized who they belonged to.



"Ah, this is Hikari's Uniform....wait....that means Hikari still has my clothes!"Miyuki replied



About that time the door knob to his room started to turn. Miyuki grabbed the clothes and stuck them behind his back. Miyuki's roommates walk in and look at Miyuki.



"What are you guys doing back so soon?"Miyuki asked



"ah I forgot my shower stuff."One said



"So I came back with him...wait what are you hiding?"his other roommates said



Miyuki started to back track.



'If Yuki figures out I have Hikari's clothes in here....running will be the least of my worries.' Miyuki thought



As his roommates got closer Miyuki tried to figure out a way to explain why he had girl's clothes. However, his thoughts were disturbed when he tripped over a shoe and the clothes went flying. Miyuki's roommates looked at the clothes, then at Miyuki, and then at each other...



"Miyuki we understand."One of his roommates said dropping down to his knees and put a hand on Miyuki's shoulder



"Yeah we won't tell anyone." His other roommate said



"Really?!"Miyuki asked



"Yup we will keep it a secret that you like to cross dress." they replied



Miyuki felt like someone had kicked him in the gut as his roommates walked out of the room.



'Impossible...'Miyuki thought



*End Flashback*



Hikari had waited for Miyuki once the two were together they walked back to the others. Who were finishing practice and going to supper.

"Miyuki Hikari did you see that boy off?"Yuki asked walking over

"Yes Yuki-nii, are you through with practice?"Hikari asked

"Yup we just got done..." Ryosuke said

"I'm going to change into my school uniform. Do you mind if I join you guys for super?"Hikari asked

"Hurray! Hika-chan is going to join us for supper!"Youichi shouted

Hikari walked with Miyuki to his dorm room. Once she had her other uniform she sent back to the locker room and changed.

The next day Hikari was walking to the meeting room, where Coach wanted to talk to her and her mother when her phone rang.

'Hu that's weird.'

"Hello, Hikari speaking."Hikari replied

"Ah, Hikari-san it's me Eijun."a nervous voice said



"Ah! Ei-chan, what can I do for you?"

"I'm coming to Tokyo...no I'm coming to Seidou."Eijun replied



"Really!? That's great! I'm glad you made up your mind Eijun you looked so lost when you left. I'll tell mom and text you when we will come get you."Hikari said

"Alright..."Eijun said



"Oh and Ei-chan."Hikari said

"Yeah?"



"I know it's hard leaving people you care about...but, just because you're apart doesn't mean your bond is broken. It just means that your bond with thoses people will be stronger...so don't worry about losing contact with your friends. If we have to I'll talk my mom into letting them come to Seidou for a day and see how we operate...plus I can tell they care for you deeply."

"Thanks Ri-chan..."



With that Eijun hung up and Hikari ran to the meeting room. Once there Hikari told the Coach and her mother what had come up.

"Text him two days after his graduation at 2." Her mother said

"Right."Hikari replied

With that Hikari tuned out her mother and the coach. She couldn't wait for tomorrow.

Six months later Hikari was with her mother waiting at the train station for Eijun.

"This place is so pretty compared to Tokyo."Hikari replied

"You sound like Eijun." her mother replied

Hikari heard laughing and talking. Hikari looked and saw Eijun walking up with his friends.

"EIJUN!"Hikari shouted

Hikari was wearing a red Seidou t-shirt with a black jacket over it. She had on blue jean short with black thigh socks, and red vans. To finish her look her brown hair was pulled into a pony tail and tied with a black ribbon. Eijun smiled when he saw her and her mother. The group walked to where their train would be boarding.

"Passengers boarding the 15:30 train to Tokyo, the train will arrive momentarily on platform 2." The announcer said



Hikari and her mother met with Eijun's mom and dad.

"Thank you for looking after my son."Eijun's mom said

"Thank you for trust us with him."Hikari said

Hikari and her mother got on the train and waited for Eijun. However, as Hikari watched the group of friends say goodbye she couldn't help but feel as if Eijun was missing out on all their sadness. Hikari felt her heart clench as she saw Eijun's friends start to cry.

'There trying to compare who is worse to stop each other from crying.' Hikari thought



As the doors to the train closed Hikari couldn't believe what they had just said to him.

'How can they just leave him with those words?'Hikari thought



Rei watched her daughter closely...

Hikari saw Eijun's pain, she slowly walked to the boy and put a hand on his shoulder. Eijun turned and looked at her.

"Come on let's take a seat."Hikari said

"Is this the determination your mother talked about?"Eijun asked "I can't lose. I'm representing them. I have to go to nationals."

Soon Eijun latched his arms around Hikari's waist and started to cry in her shoulder. Hikari smiled sadly and patted the boys head.

"I know, and don't worry. I'll do everything in my power to help you become the best."Hikari replied

Rei Takashima sat on the bench shocked. Eijun looked at Hikari as he finally stopped crying and the two sat down. Hikari asked Eijun questions about the names on his hat which he happily told her stories of him and that person.

'Even though Hikari and Eijun just met their fast growing friendship will change Seidou forever.'
