Chapter 3
A huge wave of relief flood through me as I realized it was only Jace's voice. Twice before it wasn't a voice she knew. And she really didn't feel like having a repeat of that.
She tried prying away his hands but then he switched hands and just covered her eyes with one hand and then other wrapped her arms to her side.
Leslie as trapped. She knew it. She knew running away from the situation and talking about the little episode. Leslie sighed and gave up trying to writhe out of his grasp.
She felt the rhythmic beat of his heart that was beating from her back that was pressed to his chest. Jace's grip on her loosened and she had every opportunity to break away from his grasp but she didn't.
Leslie didn't know how long they've been standing there but even though it was the most awkward situation to be in, it felt strangely comfortable.
But it didn't last long. The bell rung and students started coming back to fetch their books from their lockers now that lunch was over. They came from all directions but majority from the cafeteria. A few people bumped into them and Jace loosened his grip on her.
Leslie took this opportunity to jump out of his grasp and quickly glimpse at his expression before turning on her heel and running off to class.
He had a devilish smirk on his face, looking smug as if he's won. Leslie huffed. It's only one time, she thought. It's not going to happen again, stupid boy.
Boys were horrible. They cause nothing but pain, to the heart and physically. Like her first boyfriend, Tyler Lan, for example.
He was also her first and only boyfriend. After him, her trust and faith in everything and everyone seemed to have disappeared along with him after he cheated on her for some blonde exchange.

Tyler was everything to her, her savior, her comfort, her fairy tale price and knight in shining armor on a majestic white horse that saves her from the evil villain in the story, in her case - her father.
It was back when Leslie was a happy-go-lucky girl. Well as happy a person can get with parents that constantly fight, drink, smoke, take drugs and take it out on her. She did no drugs, drinking or smoking, yet. It was back in seventh grade in her old school, at the start of the year.
Leslie was with a bunch of girls; happily chatting away then suddenly, the captain of the basketball team approaches them. Everyone fixes their hair and clothes, in hopes that he was looking to speak to one of them, all except Leslie of course. She was hurriedly trying to finish her rice noodles before it got cold in the wintry weather. It was a sunny but cold day, but the temperature still reached no higher than 15 degrees Celsius.
"Hello, Ladies," he nodded to the girls. Leslie looked up with a mouthful of noodles, making her look like s chipmunk storing food in their puffy little cheeks.
Embarrassed, Leslie quickly swallowed it all. Tyler broke into fits of laughter while Leslie slowly felt that the noodles weren’t going down. It was constricting her lungs and she couldn't breathe. Flaying her arms out and about frantically as she tried to signal for someone to help her.
But everyone was either too busy staring at Tyler or was laughing like a maniac at her. Turning blue, she fell to the ground and that's when Tyler's laughter died out and realized the situation. He quickly pulled her to her feet and proceeded to the Heimlich maneuver.
