You awoke slowly with a yawn as you tiredly opened your eyes. You laid for a second to allow you vision to adjust before glancing at your clock. It was like 8:30-ish. Your head slightly hurt, probably from lack of sleep.
Why on earth did I stay up so late...?
You groaned and rolled onto your back, entangling yourself in your blanket-
Wait when did I get this???
You sat up and glanced at Kuro with a confused look. "Kuro?" You called.
"You make too much noisee....." He groaned as he tried to roll over and cover his face with his pillow. "..what do you want..?"
"Where'd I get this blanket from?" You asked as a faint smirk grew across your face.
He turned to face you to see what you were going on about. "You had it all night" he said bluntly and he laid back down.
"Mmmm~ I'm pretty sure I didn't-"
"You're probably imagining things..." he interrupted you in a bored tone.
Wow, pushy.. he really doesn't want me to think he did anything, it's kinda funny.
You rolled your eyes jokingly as you laid back down for a moment, "yeah, ok" you said sarcastically.
~ooOoo~
After a bit you pulled yourself out of bed and headed out of your room. You made your way over to the couch and laid down, turning on the tv.
It wasn't long before the black cat ended up following you out and sitting on the other end of the same couch.
There was a long period of quiet while you watched tv but the second a commercial came on you broke the silence, "my parents aren't here right now, just in case you didn't know"
Kuro sighed in relief and immediately took his human form before taking a stretch on the couch, "ugh, I'm stiff from that form..." he yawned.
You smirked and stood before walking over to to the kitchen to make some breakfast.
~ooOoo~
"What's the point in even being a cat~? You seriously didn't pet me at all last night..." Kuro complained in his common bored tone as he decided to put his feet up onto the couch.
You, still in the kitchen making breakfast, rolled your eyes and called from across the room, "you're not a cat!" You yelled in a joking manner.
Kuro could smell the food and got up from the couch. It was a shame since he had just gotten comfortable but he was hungry. He walked over to the kitchen and took his cat form sitting on top of the counter, "I beg to differ, meow~"
You sighed and turned around to find the black cat laying in front of you, "What on earth are you doing on the counter?!"
"You need to relax, (y/n)" he yawned as he rolled onto his back, "just stand there and be soothed by my form"
You sighed and covered your face with your hand, "You're really something, ya know that?" You said, your voice laced with annoyance.
He hummed and laid his head down watching the stove behind you.
She's not paying attention.... what a pain..
"Ugh, (y/n) the food's-"
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP*
The smoke alarm sounded and cut out all the other sound in the house causing both you and Kuro to flinch from its tone.
There weren't any flames yet but she stupid alarms will sound the second any smoke touches them...
You franticly turned to the stove and stumbled to find the correct dial to turn off the stove before grabbing the scorching pan and tossing it in the sink, running water over it putting out anything that may have been a problem.
Ugh I hate this sound!
The smoke alarms continued their obnoxious pounding into your eardrums and you inaudibly growled at them and walked over to the back door to open it. You also went and turned on the fans in every room that was near the kitchen to vent out the smell.
Great when my parents get home I'm sooo-
~ooOoo~
"Grounded!"
"You are so grounded, (y/n)!" Your mother yelled.
"I-it was an accident-"
Your parents interrupted you as they continued to yell about who knows what. It was an accident and there wasn't even a fire... why couldn't they just let it go? Your friend's parents probably would've. Yours however, loved to make a fuss.
Ugh. I hate this sound even more...
After a while your parents had let out most of their steam and sent you off to your room to spend the rest of the day there... thank god you stashed some snacks before hand because it was still the morning...
You walked in and shut the door behind you with a sigh. You shouldn't have been surprised when you saw that Kuro was just sitting there playing video games, but you were.
"Jeez... they're loud and scary, (y/n)..." Kuro complained, his eyes focused on the tv.
He hummed and paused his game when you didn't respond to him, "(y/n)?" He asked as he looked over his shoulder.
You were sitting at your desk, head in hands deep in thought.
"Hey are you alright..?" He asked in his bored tone, his eyes showed slight concern.
There was a pause before anything happened. You sighed and brushed your hair out of your face with your hand before sitting up, "yeah I'm great, Kuro..."
She looks upset still... what happened..?
How does a person react to someone else's emotions..? I doubt I should even bother trying...
...
"Wanna play..?" Kuro asked tiredly as if it pained him to hold up a second controller.
You looked down to the flor where he was sitting and cracked a smile, "yeah, but put it on mute because I'm kinda grounded" you sighed happily as you got out of your chair and sat on the edge of the bed near the tv.
Kuro just barely lifted his arm to hand you the controller and you laughed at how lazy he was.
After about half an hour of playing, and losing 'how on earth is he so good at this?!' all the discouragement you were feeling began to dissolve. It was actually fun playing games with Kuro even though he didn't seem to be good at interacting.
He's really got a way of caring while still acting like he couldn't care less about anything in the world...
