Harry, Ron, and Hermione walked together in unison as they passed through the corridors and into the dungeons. The walls were stony and cold, just how Harry had always remembered them. The voice of Hermione was rambling on about their astronomy homework, but Harry wasn't paying attention as he was trapped inside his thoughts.
He couldn't help but remember the terrible cry he let out when he saw his godfather die. He recalled the cold, hard feeling that emerged in his stomach as he realized that he would never see Sirius Black again.
"Harry? Harry, are you alright?" Hermione quizzed, waving her hands in front of his face to gain his attention.
Harry jumped.
"Sorry." He muttered as he pushed pass Hermione. She stared at him with a questioning expression.
"You don't look fine." She said, straightening her posture as she continued to walk by the Raven haired Gryffindor. She held her potions book tightly between her arms and chest, her heart beat against the thick cover as she awaited a reply from her friend.
"I said I was fine." Harry concluded, ignoring Hermione's efforts.
Hermione and Ron stared at each other with worried expressions. The trio paused as they reached the door to the potions classroom.
"Well I'm not excited to see Snape again..." Ron mumbled, only loud enough for Harry and Hermione to hear. Hermione glared at him as she stepped into the classroom.
The classroom was half full, most of the students had already arrived earlier. Ron and Harry chose to sit at the same desk beside Hermione, who shared a desk with Neville Longbottom.
"Enjoying your time back at Hogwarts, Potter?" A cruel voice teased from behind Harry and his red head friend.
Harry instantly recognized the voice to belong to a certain Slytherin.
Turning his head, Ron glared at Malfoy with fury in his eyes.
"Leave him alone, Malfoy." He hissed.
Malfoy sneered.
"What are you hissing at, Weasley?" He snarled, then returned his glance to Harry.
Malfoy narrowed his eyes in anger before speaking again.
"You'll pay for what you did, Potter." He assured through clenched teeth.
Harry rolled his eyes at the ignorant boy.
"He deserved to be arrested, Malfoy." He said, straightening his posture as he glared at him.
Malfoy smirked.
"You seem upset, Potty. Don't worry, though. I'd be flustered too if I saw my godfather die and did nothing to help him." He teased harshly, smirking in triumph.
Potter's posture dropped and his expression wore off. He was right. He saw Sirius die and didn't help him... he could've stopped Bellatrix. But no, Harry Potter was too much of an idiot to have known that then.
Ron wore an utterly disgusted expression. His ears turned red as he readied his voice for a long lecture.
"What's wrong, is Harry Potter going to cry over this tragic loss of his?" He provoked, making a fake whining face.
