*Quinn's POV*

I hear a gasp.  I run into the nurses office.

Casper's awake.  She keeps saying something.

As I walk over to her, I hear the name Josh Cook.

She's saying, "He's alive.  I saw him..."  I hope that he is even though I saw him die...  I know, right.  Sad as fuck.  I miss him, I've missed him since his passing.

Josh.

Josh Cook.

He, like I, knew of Caspers parentss, Jill and Robert, and of how they abuse her.  He tried to help her get away from them.  Casper tried to get Josh away form them.  But she couldn't get him away fast enough.  They hit him.  he bleed out before anyone could help him.

Jill and Robert found out that he knew about it and he tried to get Casper to run away with him.  And as they were just days away from leaving, he was hit.  Hard.  Broke nearly every bone in his body.

I forgot many events from that day, but there are some I will never forget.

Like the blood.

There was so much of it.  I didn't need a machine to tell me if he was alive or not.  I KNEW, in my heart of hearts, that he was dead.

No one, not even I could have survived that.

The impact.

It was so rough.  I still wonder, to this day, how the hell he ever got away.  They never got caught, not even when they were driving away.

Caspers parents knew I was there.  But they knew I saw it all, saw everything.  They also "know" (they think) I won't tell.  I haven't, yet.  I may die, but foe Casper I think it will be worth it.  For her to finally be free, to finally be OKAY.

*Caspers POV*

Once I realized what was happening.  I grabbed Quinns hand and dragged her behind me, well more like tried.  Quinn pulls me back like I'm a delicate little birdy.

"Where are we going?"  Quinn asks.

"To Josh's old house."  I say as if it's the only other place in the universe to go.  "I need to check something out...  Please?  Come with me?"  I use my puppy dog eyes that usually fail me.

"Fine, but...  Why?"  I could tell she wanted to believe he would be there alright and unhurt after all of this time, just like me.  But she doesn't want to break like that again.  Neither do I, but I know I won't sleep unless I do.

"You know I have to...  I have to do this."  I reply.

"Alright lets go.  I'm driving."  That made sense since I just awoke from a "nap" or what ever you want to call someone fainting.

Once we got out of the parking lot, it was about a 15 minute drive there.

"See, Casper.  Nothing is here."  We just walked in.

"I know right.  Me too.  This place is creepy."  See we have known each other for a VERY LONG time, so I knew what she meant by this.  We were both very creeped out by being back here.  No one has bought it from the bank since they moved ago, many years ago.

Quinn's head snaps in the direction of the kitchen.

"Stay here. I'm going to check out the kitchen." She whispers in my ear.

"Why are you whispering? We're-" She slapped a hand over my mouth before I could continue to speak.

Quinn pulls out her phone and types out a message to show me. It read 'I hear something. Shh.'
