Lin's POV
Barnes and noble. Probably one of the most overrated book shops ever. Well, sort of. I don't like it only because it is sort of a book monopoly and is better known than other mom and pop book shops that are cuter and deserve the business not. I find all large retail stores that way, I guess. That doesn't stop me, however, from going to this song... thing. my friend Tommy Kail suggested I go to this musical called Natasha Pierre and the great comet of 1812, but I sort of forgot. He said one of them could play Eliza. He said one of them was a star. Welp, since I forgot about that, I can't get tickets. Good job Lin. Lucky for me, the cast is doing this gig at the over-rated, big-headed bookshop, so I guess I gotta check it out. I get there early and take one of the better seats in the front. Once the performances start, I am not intrigued. oOne guy who keeps coughing when he tries to sing so he messes up half the song and another who doesn't care. She sings with no emotion like she wants to go home and sleep. After those twoboring performances plus some more, I text tommy, hoping that the 'star' hadn't already performed.

Lin: Lol. Who am I looking for? 3people have gone as well as 2 groups and, no offense, I'm not impressed
Lin: (ps they sorta suck) [im not tryna slam any of them it's just for the story!]
Snail: hah, you will know

Lin: your name?

Lin: thank god she hasn't gone yet
Snail: lol pay attention. Ur being a bad audience member.

I look back up from my phone.
[here is when u start the vid... I won't have this explanation everytime but since it's the first time... yeah]

I see her prance off stage and I am awed. I politely leave the bookstore because why ben in here longer than you have to be, convinced that I saw what I was supposed to. Shit, I think. i gotta get her number.. how else am I gonna recruit her for my musical?! I decide to chill outside near the door for a bit and wait for her to come out. Is that considered stalking? Maybe. A guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do, tho. Once she comes out, I decide to hang back a bit until the small crowd clears. A lot of people like her, I guess. That says a lot. She smiles as she talks to people. Adorable... wait what?

"Can I help you, sir?" I am shook out of my trance and realize that everyone is staring at me awkwardly. Damnit I embarrassed myself already. 

"Oh, uh, sorry about that. I'm Lin Manuel miranda and my producer recommended you for a role in my new musical." She nods so I continue. "I was gonna see you perform but then it slipped my mind and I forgot to order a ticket. This came up, and luckily it did, because you are really talented."

She blushes. A lot. "Well thank you Mr. Miranda. As it turns out, I have seen you perform and I have heard inklings of your new musical as well. Please remind me what it's about?" Wow. She's so cute and polite. my body starts to feel all gushy just be being around her. Snap out of it. You can't fall in love. This is strictly business. But.. You just met. But, but.. my mind goes back and forth trying to convince myself why and why not I should find this young, pretty lady attractive. She kept glancing at me while she was singing, too... I decide to interpret that as flirting and I smile. She is just looking at me right now shit is it my turn to talk? again?!?! GAH

"Oh, yeah. So it's basically about the life of Alexander Hamilton and the major points from when he comes to America to his death by Arron burr in 1804."

"Huh," is all she says.

"No, but it's gonna be cool. It's a hip hop musical with rapping and other genres and it grabs the audience from the start and--"

"No, no," she chuckles. "I am sure that it will be interesting. I know that I'm anticipating it's release. How do I audition?"

"I mean, I get final say on casting and I am astounded by your talent already, so as far as I am concerned you have the job if you want it."

"You're not serious," she says with a sly smile, chucking. I now find the situation awkward because I actually was serious... the silence drags on and she is still smiling at me.

"Nope," I say, trying to smile even though i feel really weird, after what feels like eternity. Fortunately, her energy and adorableness makes me feel comfortable again in seconds. Ahhh-- no lin. Not after I reply though "Uh, you should come by the Richard Rogers theater and uh do this reading.. there's a reading.. of uh act 2 and you should come."

"Redundant much?" She says laughing.

"Ah yeah, sorry." I say awkwardly.

"No problem. So, when is this reading?"

"Tomorrow, actually. At 10 in the morning."

"Amazing. If you're not busy, do you wanna meet up for coffee?" I raise my eyebrows in surprise. this pretty girl is asking me out for coffee... for a date-- snap out of it.

"Of course! Where would you like to go?"

"Maybe that cute place on Lafayette," she says. I chuckle. "Is something wrong?"

"No, it's just, that street was named after a man who is a character in my musical. He played a part in the revolutionary war and fought with Hamilton, as well as some of the other important figures of that era." She is looking at me in a way that I can't put my finger on. "Sorry, I'm sort of a history freak."

"No, no, don't worry." She smiles. "I am, too. You should tell me more about it later, tomorrow over coffee?"

"Tomorrow over coffee." I confirm,  smiling. She turns and waves and walks away, but I am left standing in front of that stupid bookstore in awe of the amazing woman I just arranged a date "meeting" with... and that makes me very happy.

So I skip home.
