they stopped in front of a supply closet where no one was in sight. silence ensued for a moment, until she then spoke.

"what do you want from me?"

he grabbed her hand as if they were best friends and said, "after our, um, encounter thingy, there has been something bothering you, something that I fail to understand. look, I think that both of us should clear this up, cuz I've never seen anyone be jealous of me."

but I was, she thought. for some reason, I was jealous of you a lot.

"sure, clear things up."

"first you tell me what's been bothering you."

"and then you'll tell me why you've been bullying me?" she asked, with hopeful eyes.

he nodded.

"well, nothing is bothering me as such. I mean . . . it's just that your words might be true. maybe I was jealous for the sake of it. I've never been that jealous of people before, until you came along." she sighed, desperately hoping for this dreadful chapter to finish.

"don't dwell on it too much. your life may not be perfect but you shouldn't make it worse by being jealous of all the rich people around you." he was right, but he had no idea how hard it was to make this thought escape from your mind.

how to unwind this jealousy was beyond her comprehension and imagination.

"and as for the bullying part, I bullied you because a) you were weak and b) because I had been given a challenge to bully someone for the entire school year. to be honest, it was quite fun as you didn't even retaliate."

she felt like bursting in tears. not even minute ago, he was giving her advice and now, he was saying that it was fun bullying her? she was right, he was still the heartless monster that he was before.

"but don't worry," he continued. "the challenge is over. you're free because I'll eventually find someone else to be a victim of my pranks and bullying." he wickedly laughed and then walked away.

he was wrong, she wasn't free. the mental scars had been etched in her mind and she could never get away from them. she closed her eyes and let the sadness control her body. for she knew that her life was imperfect and would remain imperfect.

forever.
