she had committed suicide. the girl who he had teased and pranked had killed herself. he had no idea about what to think of this. he had heard of suicide cases before but he had never expected one to happen because of him. and no, he wasn't really sad or anything, he was only just shocked.

"hey man, let's go," his friend pulled him out of his train of thoughts. "lee must be waiting for us."

yes, they had a party to attend too and they were getting late if they didn't go then. he put these thoughts away from his mind and smiled at his friend.

"yeah, let's go." he said and started walking ahead to his new luxurious car.

because some people in the end still do not care. even if they do a vicious act like bullying someone or making them feel low, it still wouldn't affect them at all and they'll go back to the life that they were living before.

this was nathaniel jame's. he ended up killing someone indirectly but it still didn't seem to faze him even in the slightest. he was a heartless and mean person who killed her without showing any sign of remorse or guilt; partying was still on his mind then.

and so this was his overall reaction to the girls death who's life surrounded the word zelus the very moment that he had entered the scene: nothing.

So this was nathaniels reaction to her death. Keep in mind that he is the villain of this book even if he didn't want to be or isn't supposed to be. He is a character that people are bound to hate in the end so that's normal.
