It would be an understatement if she said that her life sucked - but that was probably the only appropriate phrase that she could string together with her limited knowledge. After picking herself up from her pseudo nest of crates and boxes, she brushed off the not so imaginary dust from her clothes as she began to process her surroundings. It was pitch black, save for some cracks in the ceiling which impolitely dripped every so often.
Grumbling to herself, she tapped her forearm in an almost random pattern - before that same arm threw itself wide open, almost as if unleashing three holographic screens from underneath her skin. Her fingers moved through the screens with practiced ease, turning up the brightness to illuminate her surroundings. It wasn't anything out of her suspicions - just crates that seemed to have been abandoned for what smelled like decades, piled in what looked to be a shabby stone storage closet. She was about to step towards the door, but again the roof decided to be rather naughty and dripped directly onto her cheek. With it being in such close proximity to her nose, she could immediately tell by its sickly sweet iron scent that it was blood; forcing her to aggressively wipe her cheek and stare scornfully at the ceiling stones in betrayal. The system, which at this point had been nicely idling by and providing light, decided to interrupt her staring contest with the ceiling via a single 'ding'. She swiped at the left screen, pulling up some files about her latest subject.
"Portgas D. Ace?" she muttered, reaching out to the keyboard on the right screen. "It says that he's right here though.... " In response to her rather inaudible mutter, the ceiling seemed to clink in response before an unseen 'who's there?' sounded out in response. The girl's eyes widened in disbelief, staring at the sound for a second before slapping her head in exasperation. "Of course I'm on the wrong level, that blasted system is so damned old that it can't bloody figure out if the target is in another room it just... plonks me anywhere! How in the hell am I meant to do my job if it makes everything so inconvenient to do?!" She growled, closing up her screens before making her way to the door. As if it were a choice, the door also decided that it wouldn't perform its only function as a door and absolutely refused to open; even with several very persuasive kicks from the girl.
"Who is there?!" questioned the voice upstairs, clinking of metal on metal sounding out as it moved. She looked around, before an idea suddenly popped into her head and she began to stack crates on top of themselves. She squished her head next to the largest gap she could find - barely a millimeter in distance that offered her no sight to her target. It seemed only large enough for sound to barely pass through - giving her an almost private line to talk to the closest person.
"I'm looking for Portgas D. Ace," she said gingerly, taking a chance to tell this person her mission despite not knowing whether they were friend or foe. "If he's there can you ask him to come to this crack?" A dry chuckle answered her.
"Well, you're in luck. You're speaking to the one and only, Portgas D. Ace. Now who are you, oh voice in the floor." She pouted at that remark. It wasn't her fault that she had bound to a system that was so old that dinosaurs would have called it 'ancestor'. If anything it was her mother's for birthing her into an unfortunate life.
"My name isn't important right now." She grumbled, "I've been tasked to rescue yo-"
"What about Floor-chan," He said without much enthusiasm. "Cause you come from the floor? It's a pretty sweet name if I do say so myself."
"Don't you dare call me that!" She bellowed, earning herself a clink in response as he shifted away from the noise. Before she could berate him anymore, she heard another voice begin to speak.
"Ace, who are you talking to?"
