College.

Better than high school? Many say it's where you find yourself. Others say it's purely for getting totally wasted and dealing with constant hangovers while attempting to avoid the real world.

For me, college is a complete mystery. Neither of my parents ever made it to college, as both came from unfortunate families, which became even more unfortunate when they met and started their own family at the age of 17 and 19. It's fair to say they were forbidden to go back to their parents for help, with them being extremely traditional, so they both made the decision to move from Sayulita in Mexico to the small town of Ligonier in Pennsylvania while my mother was pregnant with my older twin brothers, that also didn't make it to college.

The only person in my family that I know went to college is my older cousin Matthew, who dropped out halfway through the first year, as the work was 'too much pressure', but I really find it hard to believe, he probably just spent too much time sleeping and couldn't keep up.

"Hellooooo? Are you in there?" I heard my cousin Hailey's distant voice talk.

"She's probably stressing about college again, even though she's been accepted to all the community colleges around here and Colorado College" I came out of my thoughts to see my best friend Freya roll her eyes, laughing at her twin sister, Willow's words.

"Cállate (shut up), it is stressful you know" I sighed, biting down on my sour apple. Stupid school cafeteria, they never have anything nice to eat.

"Luna, you know we don't understand Spanish" Freya Rolled her eyes

"Perra, you know it means shut up, I've said it to you every day since we met, and you know perra means bitch so don't even try to lie" I laughed, making Freya roll her eyes at the same time as her twin.

I looked at my two best friends sitting across from me at the school's outside benches. Both Freya and Willow were extremely beautiful. Their faces were identical, their bodies were too, from what I had seen in previous years of backyard swimming pools and rushed outfit changes before a party. The only differences between them were Willow's dark hair, as she insisted she was bored of her natural blonde hair and being confused for her sister. If I wasn't their best friend, I'd probably hate them, they were everything I could only wish to be. They were tall, and had the brightest blue eyes, and pin straight hair, I'd do anything to be able to wake up in the morning and not have to waste at least an hour on my hair. I can't even look at a brush without my hair becoming frizzy.

"Honestly Luna, there's no need to worry, yes you've been accepted into many places, but that doesn't mean you have to go, and it doesn't mean you can't drop out if you do go and it's not for you. But please, I beg you, stop worrying about it just now, it's only September, we still have all of our senior year and the whole of next summer to think about" Hailey pulled me in for a side hug and slapped my head jokingly. "Vas a estar bien (you're going to be okay)" She mumbled into my hair.

"Yeah, you're right" I slightly smiled.

"Aye, there's those adorable little dimples we all love" Willow whooped, making me laugh.

"So how was mis hijas favoritas (my favourite daughters) first day back at school?" My mother walked towards me the second I walked in the door. She often switches between English and Spanish, she brought me and my five brothers up doing the same.

"Mama, I'm you're only daughter" I rolled my eyes and laughed, pulling away from her hug.

"Exactly, so you have to  be my favourite daughter"
