Pie

"And we danced all night to the best song ever!" I raised my hands up in the air and sang (quite terribly) to the music. Believe it or not, I was a One Direction fan. A hardcore Directioner. Logan was obviously not. He groaned and moaned at my antics, his face twisted into a grimace, which marred his handsome features. I laughed even louder and kept singing along to the song. I'd lost my worries when Logan persuaded me to just let go and enjoy 'Ditch Period.' Nevertheless to say, it worked!

Once we'd reached the main road I'd turned the radio on when 'Best Song Ever' came on. A squeal escaped my mouth, startling Logan. He'd swerved in surprise, cutting off another car. The car honked madly at him, to which he'd rolled his eyes at and directed back to the original lane. Now, we were heading to the bakery. Logan assured me that his mom wouldn't be there. She only went in the afternoons, but Luke would probably be there.

When the song ended, another one came on. It was some metal/punk thing that I reached over to change. I could tell it was Alesana since Mo went crazy over them. Much to say, they were definitely not my type. When my fingers touched the knob, Logan reached over and jerked my hand off, saying, "I like this. Keep it."

"Nooo, I wanna change it!" I pouted like a baby and slapped his hand away, trying to turn the dial. His hands locked around my wrist, his thumb and forefinger meeting easily.

"Jeez. You eat so much, yet you're so skinny," he exclaimed, his hand still around my wrist. I tugged my arm away gently, so as to remove the tingling feeling.

"What? I just have a high metabolism, that's all! And I weigh just about how much an average seventeen year old does." I tucked my hand into my jacket, trying to ward off his gaze. "Hey! Ten and two! Ten and two! Eyes on the road, idiot!" My eyes widened considerably and I began to hyperventilate. My mother had been in a car accident, after all. I was always wary when it came to cars and driving; so was Dad. He always told me to drive safely.

Thankfully, Logan's attention returned to the road. "Sorry, sorry."

I calmed down a bit and sank into my seat, my mind still clouded with memories. Logan obviously wanted to say something, but he didn't, much to my relief.

My thoughts returned to the bakery. Apparently, I hadn't made the right food choice when I'd went there with Alec last month. Well, drink choice. He said that hot chocolate was 'fake.'

"Seriously? How is that fake? And that's your mom's place. Are you calling her food fake?" I questioned in confusion.

"No, it's just that... okay, hot chocolate is usually milk and chocolate mix, right?" He looked to me as if for clarification while still keeping the car straight, unlike a few minutes ago. I nodded in response and waited for him to continue. "So, I think hot chocolate should just be melted chocolate, not some milk and powder. Which I bet isn't even real chocolate."

I contemplated his strange-but delicious- theory for a few moments, then finally shook my head, replying, "I can't believe we're having this totally useless conversation."

His lips pressed into a thin line, but curved up at the ends when I said that. He gave me a flat look while staying silent.

"Are you mad at me?" I asked, in disbelief with a twinge of guilt. I hadn't offended him, had I?

"What? No, of course not!" He scoffed. I scrutinized him to make sure he was telling the truth. He was.

We sat in comfortable silence for the rest of the way, Alesana blaring through the speakers. I didn't change the station, though I dialed the volume down a bit, resulting in a playful glare from Logan.

When we stepped into the bakery, I inhaled the aroma of cinnamon, sugar, spice, and other scents that I couldn't quite place my finger on. Soft music played in the background while Logan went up the front counter, where Luke was standing. He had an amused look on his face as he alternated glances between us, first me, the Logan. Finally, he smirked, saying, "Well well well. Lookie here. Logan and Rhea ditching school to go on a date. How romantic!"

My lips twisted into a grimace at his tone as Logan and I protested.

"What! We're not on a date! I jus-"

"What the hell dude! We're just friends!" Logan's hand snaked over to slap Luke's head, but Luke's hand shot up to twist the hand down flat on the counter.

"You're out of practice, bro." Luke shook his head and gave his brother a disappointed look while Logan scowled and tried to remove his hand from his grasp.

"Whoa..." My mouth was open and I was gaping like a fish. "You have fast reflexes! Can you teach me how to do that?"

They both turned to my gaze as Logan chuckled and replied, "Sure thing, Sweetheart." He finally escaped Luke's clutches and smiled at me. "Now, dear brother. Could you please fetch us two blueberry pies and two green teas?" He asked, in a mocking voice. Luke grumbled and picked up two paper plates, placing a slice of pie on each.

"Uh, Logan? I don't like pie." I tugged his shirt sleeve and looked up at him. He chuckled and replied, "Well I'm sure you'll change your mind after you try this one."

"Okaaay. What ever you say." I doubted it though. I'd never liked pie, once in my seventeen years of life. Seeing the skeptical look on my face, he placed an arm over my shoulder, pulling me closer. I couldn't exactly escape his grasp, so I just stood there, looking like a noodle while the cups filled with green tea. Luke returned and raised his eyebrows at us, seeing Logan's arm around me. Logan payed no heed to him and picked up our tray, leading me over to our table.

He sat directly across from me and placed my food in front of me. I slowly raised my plastic fork and cut a piece off. Chewing on it, I realized, this was actually good! The flavor of the blueberries exploded across my toungue as I bit into the blue skin. I moaned in bliss at the flavor, attracting the attention of the person across from me. He rested his eyes on me in amusement. There was also a hint of something else in them. I couldn't tell what it was though, because it left as soon as it had come. "That good, huh? I knew you'd like it." He smiled that famous lopsided smirk of his.

After a few moments of silence and chewing, he said, "Rhea, I hate to alarm you, but isn't that your dad over there?"

Oooh, her dad's here. What's going to happen? Please Vote+ Comment if you like! Sorry, this is more of a filler. I promise the next one will be longer. If we get even higher on the What's Hot List, It'll be extra long! Thanks guys. I love you all so much!
