Jack and I strolled into the kitchen to find it quiet and empty, which was unusual. Kristoff or Anna would usually be in here stuffing their faces. I couldn't believe I was already missing my sister and her husband. Her husband. My sister had a husband. I had a brother in law. Most importantly Anna had someoene to make up for the past, for love I could never give or makeup to her. I sighed, this was not helping me all.
I ate a quick bowl of soup, while Jack occupied himself with making snow ladybugs fly into my hair. From far away they looked like regular snow in my hair, but they tickled and itched whenever they moved.
"Jack can you stop, you are making my head itch with these things." I said while flicking one off my shoulder, and hitting him in the face.
"I think you secretly like it." he smirked, blowing a snowflake at me. It was our version of blowing kisses.
"I may or may not. But I have a whole stack of parchments to go through before tomorrow. How about i go to my study, and you go do winter spirit things and come back before dark. Okay?" I got up and put my bowl and spoon in the cook's hands, who had just walked in to get them. "Thank you Ramsen, tasty as always, you can have the rest of the day off."
"Thank you your majesty, you have a lovely day." He walked out, leaving Jack and I alone once again.
"Well I could, or I could help you." Jack propsed his preference.
"You will be a distraction Jack, I must get these done. I am already behind enough. Go, make snow for the children somewhere. Or go visit the guardians. You haven't seen them in months. Speaking of them, when do I get to meet them. Do they know about me?" I asked, heading out the mahogony door into the ballroom agan where Olaf was still fast asleep.
"Um I don't think they do. I haven't really seen them since I met you. I guess it's about time I tell them I am okay." He scratched his head, obviously sad for having to leave.
"Are you going to tell them we are engaged?" I spun the engaement finger around my finger as i asked the question. It felt new, but familar at the sametime. Like a new dress perfectly made for me.
"Do you want me to? We haven't told anyone else. It seems kinda wrong to not tell your sister or your kingdom first." He shrugged.
"Right. And they probably will ask all kinds a questions, like when and the theme. Things we havn't even thought of yet. Alright, I am going to go play queen for a few hours. You go play winter spirit, be here around dark, and we can play us then." I said, giving him a quick kiss on the lips, and ruffling his hair up. He hugged me and then flew out the door, almost hitting the banister. I giggled and went up the stairs, wanting for it to be dark already, even though Jack had just keft.
Just then a thought accured to me. If Jack and I are engaged, that would make him king. I laughed at the idea of him meeting nobles and other royalty. And being dressed up most of the time. Oh he won't like that. Would it affect his ability to be the winter spirit, because being king is time consuming. I shrugged, King Jack, the winter spirit. It had a really nice ring to it.
For the next five hours I poured over the work I had been missing by spending time with Jack. I had managed to get all of the papers from this week, and had just started to get working on the next week's forms when Jack flew in through the window. "Hey, how did it go?" I asked while writing on the current parchment.
"Oh it was fun, North is getting ready for Christmas, so he was pretty busy. But Tooth and Sandy were fun to see again. The easter bunny not so much. He's not my biggest fan you know. He claims I have been on some tropical Island this whole time hiding." He shook some snow from his hair.
"Oh you didn't ice him did you?" I asked, signing the last paper, and stuffing it away in my desk. I got up and went to my shelf and grabbed my ring from it and put it back on, I hated being away from it.
"Nothing to bad. Why did you take your ring off?" He asked, spinning his on ring on his finger, which I didn't know he had made one for him until now.
"I had some people from the court and town up here to settle some work. If we havn't told anyone yet I can't be wearoing a ring." I said, grabbing his hand with his ring on it.
"Ok. I was just thinking maybe you didn't want to get married anymore. I know it's probably really fast, but I just wanted you to know, I have been waiting my whole life to find someone who undersrands me. You do in every sense of the word. I jsut, don't want to let you go now that I have you." he gribbed my hand a little tighter, as if he couldn't stand the though of our hands letting go, our skin never touching again.
"Jack, no. You, I love you. Only you. I have never known a love like ours. I know it's different from Anna and Kristoff's or anyone else's. But it's ours, and for once in a long time, I have someone I can love without hurting them. I love you, stop doubting it."
"I know I know, I am sorry. Sometimes I just can't believe you are mine sometimes."
"Well I am yours forever, so get used to it." I kissed his cheek and we left the study.
