As the night fell on the girls face, the fire in her eyes and the hope in her heart died with the sun. The waiting of the promise had come to an end- she was going to Coruscant.

Young and with the will to survive, the journey ahead didn't intimidate. The words spewed from the towns locals were ignored by her confidence and curiosity in getting to where she wanted to go. She had a promised made and a promise she would fulfill.

Even her age bothered her none, though members of the community had degraded her for being unable to achieve her dreams. She had heard tales of children younger than her making it to the city. With her parents leaving, that's what she had to do. And with such a large life ahead of her, wasting it on the god forsaken dust bowl would put it to waste.

Locals disagreed but their words wouldn't matter after she'd left.

Her hands were shaking as the zip of her bag was made. Her heart beated out of her chest no matter whether she was thinking of the good or bad. Nevertheless, loneliness is a scary thing for anyone to experience and walking out of a house that was once filled with family alone was enough to make anyone feel empty no matter the fortune or amusement coming.

Fear clouded her mind at the moment of what might happen. She went blank and all that was occurring was the sound of the engine and the breeze of the lonely planets wind.

"Are you waiting for your parents little lady?" A large, bug like creature hissed. It took her second to process what she was doing and what would happen after she go onto the ship. She soon shook her head and passed a electronically glowing ticket over in silence. The conductor eyed her as he confirmed the ticket and let her pass.

Dawn was over, and so was the old life of the girl.

__________

The city bustled with life. Busy, breathing life. Mixes of tongue, smells, and sights overwhelmed the girl as she proceeded to find where she was staying the night. The shoving made her feel somewhat invaded of space and uncomfortable, but she kept in mind that this was the life she would have to be accustomed to. Her eyes darted from heads to the buildings surrounding her. It seemed like she was trying to find a needle in a haystack. A simple motel would be more than difficult to find in a city foreign to a child.

As the little one's eyes traced the map on her holopad and the signs around her, a loud crash of an object caused the massacre of people around her to ripple. They all crashed into her and yelled loudly.

"Stop that thief!" a woman yelled in the distance. With that, a path leading to the girl parted and a young man came running towards her with a dead look in his eyes. Before she could even move, the man grabbed her small wrist and pulled her off with him. Now the crowd was yelling even louder. "He's kidnapping her!", they all cried.

The girl began to pull away but the boy's grip was nothing compared to her small arms. Soon she began to scream and cry in terror. With jagged movements, the boy then wrapped one of his arms around her throat and held up a small dagger. Her hand clutched his arm just as he choked her. She began to scratch at his skin but she knew she was not causing any damage.

His breathing from behind her was loud and shaken. From the side of her eyes, she saw he was sweating the largest beads of sweat that could only come from a sufferer. He smelled of sweat and smoke and it constantly rose up burning her nose. Her breath then became in sync with his and a strange feeling arose, letting her hands falter.

This boy was probably going through the toughest of times and that drove him to a state of stealing all he could find. The girl felt sorry for the boy, regardless that her life was being thrown out because of pure unluckiness of where she was standing. And even then, she felt some calmness and acceptance of what would happen. Something inside her told her he wasn't going to do anything.

Everyone around them were now yelling but no one really stepped up to save the girl. The dagger near her throat seemed to come closer as the people neared or objected. Her life was on the line and the only ones could help were strangers. Then with a booming voice, the boy said the next words that made everyone's heart drop.

"Come closer, and'll kill'er." He hissed, "I want the parents of'er to come forth and drop all they have for their daughter." his threat made people search the crowd. The girl became worried, knowing that her parents were most definitely not in that crowd.

His grip tightened even more and she could feel the cold, sharp blade against her skin. Something made her want to fight, but an even bigger feeling made her stay clam. The girl slowed down her breath and finally said something. It was a mere whisper, and only her capturer could hear her.

"My parents aren't here. If you let me go I will give you all I have, anything but my life." It sounded like surrender to the boy.

His eyes still focused on the crowd, he whispered back, "walk away with me o'er there, drop yer' stuff, and walk away. We're going to back away from the crowd slowly. Any sudd'n movements, I'll kill'ya."

The girl nodded in response and calmly, the boy pulled her away from the crowd. His hand left her throat and was now threatening anyone near him. As soon as a way was parted, the boy ran with her wrist in his hands. Everyone gasped yelled after them but he just kept on running.

Soon, they were in a dark ally way. The boy let go of her and kicked her to the floor. She fell on her knees and frantically emptied her bag.

"This is all I have" she faltered. In front of them was a small sized bag with enough money to pay for 2 meals and some clothes that would most definitely not fit him.

He scoffed, "Are ya kiddin' me?". He kicked the bag away and walked off in distress. The girl stood up as his back was facing her.

"I'm Illea." She said innocently. "Who are you?"

He stopped walking but never turned around, "I'm nobody." And he proceeded. Illea needed help from someone- anyone to get her through the city, and everything told her he wasn't going to help.

"Okay Nobody... Do you happen to know where the 'Red Miku' is? I plan on staying there and-"

The boy turned and caused Illea to become silent. She clasped onto her shirt nervously, waiting for an answer.

After long hesitation, he replied in his broken language. "Yea. Do you need d'rections?"

Illea loosened and let out a relieving breath. "Oh yes. Thank you so much." She sped up to him and walked with him slowly. She wanted to ask so much of him but part of her thought he would threaten her if she were to say anything.

Together, they walked off into the deep city of Coruscant.
