The air was warm, but there was a nice breeze keeping Ella cool. As her hair blowed behind her, she walked her dog, Prince. She had not expected to see any of her friends there, but to her surprise she spotted Olivia riding her bike down the sidewalk. They hadn't seen each other all summer and Ella was quite happy to see one of her friends again.
As Ella and Prince ran through the park to catch up to Olivia, she realized that Olivia wasn't by herself. Alex, was with her.
Even better, Ella thought.
Ella's POV
"Liv! Alex!" I called out. "Slow down would ya!" I ran as fast as I could while dragging Prince behind me. Prince wasn't the fittest dog to say the least. He was a bit overweight.
After we had said our greetings, Alex started to stare at my face. "Wait is there something different about you?" she questioned.
"Oh, yeah. I'm wearing makeup finally." Even though we are all 16, I refused to wear makeup until now. Seeing as we were off of school for the time being I had decided that I would start now to perfect my technics before we entered Junior year.
"What?!" Alex and Olivia gasped instantly and then proceeded to laugh.
Third Person POV
Ella couldn't be truthful to herself or anyone about this. It was a secret she had yet to figure out about herself. She liked two of her best friends. One being the strong, strategic, and wild Alex, and the other was the genius, kind-hearted, and beautiful Brooklyn.
As Ella stood talking to the other girls, she realized that even though the topic had changed from makeup to their summers, Alex hadn't stopped staring at Ella. Her cheeks turned a soft red color.
Ella thought. I'm probably just imagining it. There is nothing going on here; it's just my imagination playing an evil trick on me. I hope-
Ella's thoughts were interrupted by a phone call. Olivia took her phone out of her purse and answered it.
"Hey," Olivia said into the phone. "Okay, we're on our way... Yes, I remembered the pizza and the drinks... Okay, bye." She hung up the phone and turned to her friends. "Well we gotta get back, come on Alex. Great seeing you Ella!" The pair jumped on their bicycles and rode off.
Ella was surprisingly sad to hear this news. Although she simply dismissed the thought as unimportant because she was happy to see her friends again after a few weeks. Nothing more, nothing less.
