Where on Earth is she? I thought as I waited in the gym locker room. I told Brooklyn to meet me here after her last class and of course she doesn't show up!
I had decided to wait 5 more minutes before leaving to go home. With nothing better to do, I pulled out my phone and started playing Color Switch. (I recently got addicted to this game)
"That's it. I'm outta here." I put my phone in the pocket of my hoodie and started walking out. I was half way across the gym when I heard a door open behind me. I turned to see if it was Brooklyn, but I was shocked by who it was.
"Hey there," Alex said to me. "What's wrong?"
"Oh, it's nothing." I said lying.
"No. I know that face you're making. You're upset about something. What happened? Do I have to kill someone for ya?" Did I forget to mention that Alex is like the go-to person if you need get revenge on someone? Well, she is.
"No, it's nothing like that. Brooklyn was meant to meet me in the locker room, but she never showed."
"Well why did you wanna meet her?" Alex questioned starting to walk towards the exit with me.
"I just needed to... ask her for help with math. You know how good she is with that." Lying once again. I trusted Alex and I honestly did consider telling her but if she really knew what I wanted to meet Brook for, then she'd probably fangirl her head off.
My friends and I are all a bunch of nerds, geeks, otakus, or whatever you wanna call us. Mainly we are fangirls, and when there is a ship that becomes canon you better believe it (Naruto reference anyone?) that we freak out!
"S**t, I'm late for track practice. See ya later Ging'r." Alex ran out of the gym and headed to the football field.
Yes, my hair is red. Yes, I am a ginger. No we do not have souls, and we do not like it when you call us names. However, Ging'r was Alex's nickname for me and I thought it was really cute, so I let her call me that. Sadly, Brooklyn had no nickname for me.
My phone rang with the sound of a text message. (E will be Ella and B will be Brooklyn)
B: I am soooo sorry about the meeting thingy
Of course, she forgot. Why do I even try with her? It's not like she would be happy about what I was going to tell her.
E: Its k
B: What did you need to tell me
E: Well its kinda a face-to-face convo
B: Oh
B: We can meet before school tomorrow
E: No thanks. It wasn't important anyways
B: c u at school tomorrow then
E: yep c u then
Oblivious. I thought this day would go fine, Brooklyn would show up, then it ended up being who came and talked to me. Well, Alex is better than nothing, so I'm okay with it.
-=-=-=-=-=- TIME SKIP TO NIGHT -=-=-=-=-=-
I lay in bed imagining what might have happened if Brooklyn showed up. I may have confessed as I planned to do and everything would be great, I may have chickened out and ended up asking her for help on math homework like I told Alex, or she may have rejected me. I couldn't bare the thought of it.
Overall I guess my plan was dumb. Ask her to come to the locker room, confess my feelings towards her, and then what? Would Brooklyn have felt the same? The odds of that are low, but that doesn't make me like her any less. She makes me happy, and I hope she can say the same for me.
Then again, there is Alex. I know Alex wouldn't hate me or feel differently if I told confessed to her, but in complete honesty, I don't know if I could. Both of these girls have been there with me through fun times and hard times. I don't know if they would see me differently and it might ruin our friendship. Maybe another time.
