*Serra's POV*
It was before dawn when I woke up. I was nervous and sad. I was dress, ready for the day that I wished hadn't start. I was distraught, I was going to become a padawan to a new master today.
My old master perished on our last mission. We weren't prepared for Count Dooku to appear, but my master fought as hard as he could. Dooku got away, but not before taking my master away from me.
I feel bitter now, I don't have to reason to smile anymore. I'm hurt, no, devastated with how my life turned out. He was my master, my best friend, my advisor, the only one I truly trusted . And now...he's gone.
I checked the time and groaned in annoyance. I got up from my bed and left the room. I strolled the halls and passing a couple of Jedi on the way. I just ignore the pity stares everyone gives me. They don't understand how much they're not helping by doing so.
I reached the roof and sat down, watching the sun rise. It was beautiful, but even this couldn't lift my spirits. I had a few minutes to spare, so I used it watch this lovely view.
I had to leave to meet with the Council. I left the roof and headed to my destination. There were a couple of Jedi there, but only the important ones; Yoda, Windu, Qui-gon, Shaak Ti, and one other I have never seen before.
He seemed younger than the rest, but had a sense of maturity with him. Of course he was older than me, but not by much. He had his piercing eyes on me as soon as I walked in, no warmth in them at all.
'Who is that? This couldn't be my new master, right?'
I stood before them and slightly bowed my head with a bored look on my face. I just want to get this over with and leave.
"Masters."
It was Master Windu who stepped to me first and spoke, "Padawan Nootan! Glad for you to join us."
"Thank you for having me, masters." I spoke in a stern, but tired voice.
It was Master Qui-gon who spoke next,"Young one, we understand the effects the death of your Master had on you. That's why when these things happen, we give the padawan some time to get over the shock. Now, young one, it is time for you to be a padawan to a new master."
"Who's my new master?" I asked, purposely ignoring the youngest Jedi in the group.
Master Yoda stepped forward and looked up at me,"A new master you will have, and your new master Lonan Simnack will be."
The unfamiliar man stepped forward and glared at me. He was one of the most intimidating men I have ever met.
He arched his eyebrow and spoke, "I'm Lonan Simnack, I will be your new master. As of now, you will call me Master Simnack and nothing more or less. I expect our training to be strict and professional. No childish behavior. I take my position seriously and I expect you to be a mature student. Is that understood?"'Oh boy!'
"Yes Master." I said with a slight grimace.
He nodded his head, "Good."
He walked to stand next to me, leaving us with enough distance between us. He and I looked at the others and Shaak Ti spoke to me and my new master.
"Master Simnack and Padawan Nootan, there's been a security breach caused by the Separatist on one of our bases. We need you to go and put an end to this invasion. This will be a great opportunity for the both of you."
"Me and my padawan will board my ship immediately and will be off." Lonan spoke before I could.
"Very well. Good luck on your first mission together you two," Shaak Ti said with a warm smile.
Me and Master Simnack bowed our heads and walked out of the Council room. The walk to his ship was quiet and a bit awkward.
The only sound that could be heard was our footsteps and the slight chatter of others we passed by. We reached the hangar and located the aircraft. I had to admit, it was pretty awesome.
"This is the Star Gazer. We're going to board this ship once the crew gives us the signal. Don't go wandering off, we need to go as fast a poss-""We're ready, sir!"
I followed the voice and seen a clone present. "Thank you Leroy! Let's go Padawan. No time to waste." Lonan barked and stormed off,
The rest of us hurriedly climbed on board and I made my way to the cockpit. I took a seat and tried to mentally prepare myself for my first mission since the incident. I was gonna help with the controls when he snapped at me. "Don't touch anything!"
I flinched, then gave him a dirty look, "But I was only trying to help!"
I was getting angry, I wasn't in the mood in the first place and he's making things worst.
"I never asked for help! Sit still and wait on my orders!" He shot back while flipping switched from above us. I sat there totally pissed off! How dare he?!
A few minutes later, we were in the sky. We were going higher and higher until, finally, we were in space. He pressed a few more button then pulled the lever for us to travel light-speed.
After a few seconds we arrived at the planet that the base was stationed on. We landed on the planet and prepared ourselves. Simnack, the clones, and I made our way to where our destination was.
'Here we go.'
