As a police man finally arrived at the house and knocked on the door, Maggie put the paper back in the baseball and ran inside her kitchen. She hid the ball inside of a pale blue, glass vase and set down the fire poker. She walked down the hallway and opened the door to see a tall, skinny police man. "You called us. What seems to be the problem?" Maggie knew that telling the police about this would just make her sound crazy and then get them put into a crime that wasn't even there. "Uh..nothing officer. My batteries were just screwing up my detectors and I just got a little freaked out." Maggie thought she sounded confident but in reality, she sounded exactly like she was trying to hide something. But the officer was too distracted by the broken glass in the kitchen. "How did the glass break, ma'am?" Maggie looked over at the glass and turned back fast at the officer. "I...er....um....I was cooking and accidentally let go of my spoon and it hit the glass." The officer knew she was lying. "Ma'am, if you don't tell us what exactly is happening, there is no possible way we could help you." Maggie knew he could tell she was lying but she didn't want to start anything. "Sir, I am fine. I do not need someone to not believe me when I say what happened. Thank you for the concern and have a good night." She slammed the door on the officer's face. He started to walk away when he noticed the street lights flickering. They were going in a pattern. He didn't like the feel so he sprinted to his cop car. He got in the front seat, started up the engine and starting going as fast as he could. He was about half-a-mile away from Maggie's house when he came to a stop light. He felt a little better seeing the lights just being regular lights and not flickering or anything. Everything was silent in his car. Almost too quiet. He relaxed in his seat for a moment until his phone went off. *Ding* *Ding* He was getting a call from an unknown number. He picked up the phone and responded. "Officer Sanders." A voice no one had heard in a while responded. "Hello Sanders. I'd like to report a homicide." " Okay. Where did this accident take place?" The line got quiet for a minute then an answer came out. In a dark, whispy, quiet tone, the other person said, "In your car." The line cut out. Officer Sanders had no idea what it meant but he decided to keep driving. Right as he stepped on the pedal, someone popped up in the backseat. He pulled a knife to Sanders throat and slit it from side to side. After the slice, Sanders was dead. The person who did this decided that Sanders had to have a much more memorable death. They got in the drivers seat and drove down the Maggie's house and hit the horn. They kept hitting it. Maggie looked out the window at the cop car. She had no idea what was going on. She went downstairs and opened the front door and started walking until the car exploded. The whole car went up in flames. As Sanders's body flew out and fell down to the ground, Maggie started crying and then saw something attached to the body. It was a note. It read, " See how nobody survives in Lakewood?"
