I was wearing a silky blood red knee length dress that flowed with every delicate step I took in my matching red heels. Red silk ribbons were wrapped around my ankles to my mid calves. My hair was in long blonde curls held back with a black headband decorated with silver gems. I had done a smokey eye look, completed with long lashes and red lips. My pale face was masked in a matching foundation, hiding my small freckles. Dylan wore a black suit and a red tie.

My seventeenth birthday, my first birthday to be spent away from home. Would it be the only one? I was starting to miss my family. I did feel the slightest pang of guilt. I imagined the presents that my mother had been spending the year piling up, that she couldn't give to me. Her little girl was missing.

It was all his fault. I was starting to wish he never brought me here.

I loved him but I wish I didn't.
