Summer Necessities
The airs of academic freedom,
the energetic winds,
call our names.
The heat of the sun,
the clear skies,
await family games.
--
The cold ice cream,
dripping down our hands,
makes my tongue cry.
Thoughts of poetry nights,
writing words with you,
make me dreamily sigh.
--
A new summer playlist,
addicting music in the car,
is what we look forward to.
Family tea time under the stars,
telling stories of the past,
is what we'd always do.
--
Exploring lost lands,
going to the beach,
leave me missing spontaneous outings.
Heading to the movies,
fasting on hard days,
we'd be Angels without wings.
--
Our sunglasses against sunscreen,
swimming for sunburns,
in hot days like these.
Nothing on our minds,
running wild without caution,
is everyone's summer necessities.
