The morning light hit softly London's buildings and casted blurry shadows onto the ground. Alice, with her messy honey-blonde hair and torn jeans sat in the classroom, tapping her pen onto the paper in a slow but rhythmic motion. It was just another wednesday and just another class that she had to wander her mind through.
Suddenly she heard a coin drop onto the floor from the other side of the room. It was her friend Kate, pushing a coin off the table to get her attention. They knew each other so well, that they didn't need words to communicate. Just one crossing between their eyes and they knew exactly what the other was thinking.
Alice raised her hand in the middle of the class and said "Excusez moi, Madam mais je dois aller dans les salles de bains." to which the teacher replied with a simple hand gesture telling her to go.
After 3 minutes Kate got out of the classroom. "I thought that you didn't listen in french classes." said Kate, to which Alice replied with a sly smile on her face: "Haven't you heard of Google Translate?". They both laughed and headed to the bathroom in which they would usually smoke cigarettes together.
Kate with her bleach-blonde, almost white hair and jet black eyes lit a half-smoked Marlboro and exhaled the smoke sharply into Alice's face. Even though this was one of those things that they did to mess with each other, the smoke still made Alice's face cringe. "Won't you stop doing that?" said Alice with laughter. "Not until I die." replied Kate and laughed intensely. After a few seconds Alice pulled out a box of thin cigarettes, then lit one but didn't blow the smoke in Kate's face. Instead she turned her head to the left and slowly exhaled. "See how it's done?" asked Alice with a sarcastic tone and a thin smile. Kate laughed lightly and continued to inhale the smoke from her Marlboro. It was a ritual, their ritual. Kate with her always half-smoked Marlboros and Alice with her thin but always whole cigarettes. At this point of the day they would usually talk about all the latest gossip and keep in mind the time so that the teacher wouldn't go looking for them.
It was just another wednesday...
