Alice froze in one place when she heard the voice. A voice that she couldn't recognize, yet sounded so fimiliar. Alice couldn't understand how she got herself into this situation. To stand between an abandoned room and a magnificent garden. There was a table in the middle of her view and a few people sitting around it. On the table there were all sorts of small sweets: cupcakes, french macarons, a few plates of scottish tea biscuits and many more. Alice was both confused by the situation and amazed by the look of everything around her. At the end of the table there was a tall man with gray eyes, an old black coat and a top hat. Alice couldn't recognize the voice nor anyone that was sitting around the table.
"Come Alice, dont be shy"- said the man with the top hat, while slowly stirring his tea.
"Do I know you?"-asked Alice with confusion.
"Does it matter? Now tell me, you like your tea with how many cubes of sugar?
"Why should I tell you, i don't even know why I am here. Is this some sort of an AA program?"
"Curiosity."- said the man, expexting Alice to know what he meant.
"What?"
""...I don't even know why I'm here..." curiosity is the answer to this questuon."-said the hatter with a sly smile on his face and continued- "She lead you here...well...your memories of her. Then you just followed my cat."
"Kate..."-Alice mumbled with tears starting to fill her eyes. The man with the hat just moved up to her and opened his arms, in an attempt to hug Alice, to comfort her. Alice just let herself hug the gray-eyed stranger, she was so tired from this day that when she closed her eyes she started to feel as if she was drifting away in his arms.
"Wake up sweetheart, you almost fell asleep on me."- said the hatter with a thin smile.
"Well sorry, but I'm tired."
"I believe that you have already met Cheshire, the cat that you followed to get here."- the hatter smiled and at that moment the white cat jumped onto his shoulders. The quick leap onto the hatter made Alice jump back in shock.
"Sorry about that, he gets exited when he hears his name."-said the hatter while petting the cat that was still on his shoulders. The cat purred in satisfaction.
"I suppose that I should ask you again if you would like a cup of tea."- said the hatter, and the cat jumped off of his shoulders and onto the checkmate floor.
"I would love one."
