Awkwardly standing by the counter top alone in James' kitchen I decide to pour a cup of beer even though I'm not illegal, gotta live life on the edge every now and then right?

I'm kidding.

If you're wondering where Dan is he's busy flirting with James. Even thinking of his name makes me thoughtlessly roll me eyes. The sane solution for all this would be to murder the guy but then again... that's too predictable and it would also put a permanent frown on Dan's face, which I wouldn't want.

As I sneak a glimpse Dan's way I notice James is getting a bit too close, so to avoid the immense pain I'd feel I avert my attention away from them and I text Maria asking her if she's busy, since Dan clearly is.

Once I received a message back I immediately glanced at my phone seeing she had texted back, "Not really why, whats up?"

"Would you like to know..." I texted back, sighing as I saw James lead Dan somewhere from the corner of my eye.

"So what happened with Dan?" She gruffly asked as she chowed down on her veggie burger.

"Well he asked me to go to this party with him, then he left me all alone for that James guy." I groaned, once again rolling my eyes at the mention of his name.

"Jealousy is not a good look on you." She giggled avoiding my gaze.

"What do you mean?" I said in an annoyed tone.

"Jesus, it's quite obvious that you like my ex. Especially with that look you gave me when I told you I was going to break up with him." She said in a duh tone, proceeding to sip from her straw.

"Whatever, the point is that I'm going to end up alone for the rest of my life." I exaggerated.

"Don't worry you'll have your preserved heads to keep you company." She laughed humorously.

"I really need to butcher someone it's been awhile." I grumbled  as I fumbled with my fingers under the table.

"It's been a few days."  She chuckled, smearing mustard onto the corner of my mouth.

"What was that for?" I whined wiping the mustard away using my shirts sleeve.

Instead of replying she pointed towards a guy, a really cute guy who kind of looked like Dan might I add. She thought it would be a great idea to call him over as he was sitting all alone at a table scrolling through his phone clearly trying to pass time.

I tried telling Maria that it was a bad idea, but her being Maria and all she called him over to our table anyways.

"What's up man?" Maria teased the stranger.

"Nothing really, got stood up by my date." He smiled.

"Why are you smiling then?" I blurted out, quite confused.

"Cause getting stood up by her apparently means I get to meet a cute guy." He smirked.

"You're such a smooth prick it makes me wanna puke, just sit down Will." Maria said as she pretended to gag.

"Wait you know him?" I asked even more confused. Will deciding he'd scooch in next to Maria.

"Well yeah, I don't think I'd call a random stranger to our table." She said letting out a light laugh.

"Maria we're talking about you." Will said butting in.

"Touché" She said in thought.

"Weren't  you that guy that won a bunch of matches back at the underground arena?" Will asked changing the subject.
