Everything is not ok. Destruction filled every city in every country. No place was safe. Not anymore. The virus had spread across the world like wild fire. Cannibalism was one of the effects. People started calling them zombies even though they weren't dead. They lost total control of their body and just started...eating everyone. If you got bit you weren't really affected unless their blood mixed with yours. It started out has a science experiment. A test to cure cancer. Things went terribly wrong from there. The subject started twitching and shaking. He broke free from his restraints and...you can guess from there.
We were outside practicing for our 2017 show. After school practice to be exact. We were falling  behind and so we decided to stay til 7. The sun was beginning to sink beyond the horizon. Sweat covered our bodies. Finally we stopped. We were all breathing heavily, frozen in place staring at our drum majors. "Relax," Mr.Hunt said over the microphone. I collapsed to the ground, clarinet still in my shaky hand. Kailee nudged me with her shoe. "You dead?" She asked. I could feel her playfully smile at me. "Nearly," I huffed. She giggled and sat down beside me. "Me too." I closed my eyes.
"Uh Mr.Hunt!" A trombone called. The old man looked down at the junior. "What?" He asked. "You might want to see the news," he replied nervously. Murmurs began to spread across the large band. Phones began to be seen. Mr.Benton quickly climbed down the metal stairs. "Alright everyone inside now!" Panic began to rise. "What's going on?" I asked. Kailee shrugged and grabbed the back of my shirt so she wouldn't lose me. I kept looking behind me every so often just to make sure she was behind me. Mr.Benton opened the doubled doors that lead to the band room. Soon enough the small room was filled with high school kids. Voices were loud and they weren't cheerful either. Fear filled inside of me. I stuck close to kailee. She pulled out her phone and clicked on google. "Oh my god," she muttered in disbelief. "W-what...what is it?" I stuttered. She gave me a nervous look and showed me the screen.
A virus outbreak has spread across the United States quickly. Please stay in your homes and remain calm.

"So basically a zombie outbreak?" I asked. She nodded. "Over a million have been infected now. My eyes widened and my breathing became a bit difficult. Kailee patted my back softly. "Kailee...what about our family? Our parents?" I choked out. Her blue eyes filled with sadness. I began to notice other students were beginning to panic as well. Our four band teachers, plus the two color guard teachers, were all talking quietly to themselves. I could see their worried expressions. I rested my forehead on Kailee's shoulder.
She pulled me to the ground and we say in a painful silence. My sweaty head still rested on her shoulder. "Hey guys please sit down and be quiet for a moment," Mr.Burris said horsely. Everyone fell silent and quietly sat on the white floor. The four older males walked towards the white board. They were all quiet and not as happy as they once were. They seemed deep in thought,as if they were deciding on what to tell us. I held on tightly to my friends small arm. I felt like crying but I held myself together. Our eyes fell on Mr.Benton. He was larger then most males. Bald with a scruffy beard. He was funny and was a mother to us. He gripped the conductors stand. His once cheerful blue eyes were now filled with worry and sadness. He looked up at us.
" if you haven't heard yet there's been um..." He paused. He screwed his eyes shut then opened them. "There's been a virus outbreak. It's infecting a lot of people. We would send you home but I'm not risking you guys getting hurt. So just sit in here for a little bit. We'll go get you guys some food." With that he went out into the hallway. Mr.Burris stayed with us while the others went to get us food. He was smaller than the other directors. He had black hair but the top of his head was bald. He had a scruffy beard waits gray hairs. A stranger that wore a grey hoodie started banging on the band room doors. I jumped and held on to kailee. "Please let me in!" He begged. "Everyone get away from the doors that lead outside," Mr.Burris said sternly. The man continued banging on the windows. "Please," he sobbed. There was a high pitched shriek and a lady that was really pale sank her teeth into the mans neck. Blood splattered the dirty windows. People screamed and backed further away.
Painful screams filled the air. People were now sobbing and holding someone. Soon the scream died down and all you could hear was the sound of someone chewing.
