Natsu

I don't know how long it's been when the explosion of pure light happened, but I will never forgive Talon for what he did. My body was limp on the ground as I was catching my breath from the impact that occurred. I need to get to Lucy.

Ears ringing and my eyes no longer having the power to see, I pulled myself to stand up. Even if it did sent me an agonizing pain all in my nerves. I need to get to Lucy...

There was a huge crater where Lucy was strapped down by Talon, knowing she was most likely still there...hopefully... not dead. I couldn't feel my body move whatsoever, it felt numb to the bone for some reason, but I need to get to Lucy. Moving slowly, I marched closer to reach her. "Lucy..." I mumbled bringing me back to my senses. I need to reach Lucy.

"Lucy... Lucy..." The word was sweet in my mouth. It reminded me of a homemade meal that Lucy once cooked for me a long ago. Lucy, she's an awesome cooker. Not now idiot, I need to reach Lucy. I made it to the edge of the crater viewing it over when I landed on a body still lying on the ground, not moving. "Lucy!" It wasn't a shout when I called for her, more like a whimper when Happy's hungry. Oh yeah, Happy's angry at me. I left him at the guild wanting to protect him, but I could use his help right now. I'm a terrible partner. Stop getting off topic, I need to get to Lucy.

She was little ways still not moving. I trudged on pulling myself up to keep walking. I need to help Lucy... I landed on my knees next to her. Lucy's eyes were covered by her raven hair, her body still being protected by the tar-like splotches. Her wings were torn to shreds to where they weren't even wings, more like a plucked chicken's wing that was already butchered. Black blood spewed out of her mouth and stomach, the sword still punctured and standing in her organs. "Lucy..." I prayed to the Gods hoping she would reply back to me. Anything would be a blessing at this point. "Say anything Lucy. Please just tell me anything!"

Blood dripped off her face, to the ground of ashes. My arms became tense as my fists clenched. My head fell to the ground, punching my hands soil of nothing but ash. "No! Please no!" Everything was spinning, the world was going too fast for me to even catch it. Rage was spilling into my veins, I couldn't blame anyone but myself. I knew it was my fault for this.

I failed Lucy, again.

"LUCY!!!" My body somehow had the strength to cry and echo her name out. Maybe if I called for her, she would come back to us. For me? I brought my eyes back up standing and picking the Goddess Sword out of her. Not even looking I threw it out of my sight falling back down to pick her body up. Her back was against my chest not breathing at all. I put my forehead on top of her head. "Please...I didn't even tell you about my feelings." The sky was still crimson red when the sun became black. I put my head up to the sky watching as the only light, even though it gave the feeling of blood falling on the Earth, vanish. The wind was also howling all around us as the tress and grass that were somehow still green wilt to murky brown. I held Lucy closer to me....when I heard it.

Giggles. Menacing giggles.

"Good morning to a new day, Natsu." Lucy said blood still coming out of her mouth and eyes also covered. I let out a terrified scream instantly back up on my feet. My heart was racing to death as I watch Lucy levitate herself back up. Blood was still dripping continuously when her feet settled back on the ground. "I can no longer be stopped by you or anyone Natsu. Seraphina is gone!"

"What does that mean?" I yell protecting myself from the sharp winds around us. Lucy smiled gruesomely. "The Balance is dead! The Midnight Realm has completed the feast of eating away EarthLand! Earth is collapsing, and you can't do anything about it. Killing me won't stop it now, though I wish I could have brought the bits of myself back from it, but it's worth every drop of blood! No one can kill the monster, the Dark One!"

Lucy laughed evilly when her body was covered itself in darkness, almost like a shadow now, but still had a solid figure in the center of the shadow. She became like a mist as the eyes of the devil still glowed with murderous glares. "I have awoken from slumber Natsu! I'm the most powerful being in all Five Realms! Natsu, imagine us...if you joined me? We could be the most powerful team in existence! We could be together forever! That's what you want right? We can be together just like you and I want! I can read your desires Natsu...join me, and you will never lose me again. I swear."

I was cold and broken. My heart shattered to pieces, because I knew...it was too late to save her. I was too late to save my Luce. The wind continued roaring in my ears and disheveling my hair. I turned my eyes over, seeing the Goddess Sword less than maybe twelve feet away. I focused back on Lucy, hand still out and smiling at me. I started to trail over to her, back straight and posture showing no fear.

Lucy again started to laugh, thinking she has won. I was face to face with Lucy observing every detail on her face. "Join the Darkness, and I will be yours Natsu. You will never worry about us being separated again, to never lose me again. We could be together for all eternity." I still held an impassive face, putting my hand on her cheek. It was ice cold and stretched over her cheekbone.

"I've already lost you Luce."

I gave Lucy the hardest uppercut that I could give with my armored arm. Her body was sent flying more than twenty feet away, giving me a chance to get the Sword. I dead-sprinted to the sword never stopping for air then quickly dove and stood right back up with the cleansed weapon back in my possession. I won't be sorry this time for fighting back, my Lucy is gone for good. "Get up!" I screamed.

Lucy thrashed and roared like a dragon. She was back up not even caring if her jaw was dislocated or broken. Lucy's eyes told me everything she felt: Kill Him.
"HOW COULD YOU! I GAVE YOU A CHANCE TO BE WITH ME! FOR US TO BE TOGETHER FOREVER! YOU THREW IT AWAY KEEPER! I THOUGHT...I thought you loved me..."

The sword grew to life in my hands just as I began running up to her. "My desire isn't to be with who I dearly want to be with anymore," I skidded behind her ready to hit her back. "MY DESIRE IS TO SET HER FREE FROM ALL THIS NOW!" I slashed her back, blood spraying on my face and Lucy crying from the pain. Lucy turned vigorously swiping her claws to who knows where. "I NEVER LOVED YOU ANYWAYS! YOU WERE NOTHING BUT A TROUBLE MAKER AND A CHILD ABOUT EVERYTHING! NO ONE COULD LOVE YOU EVEN IF THEY WERE GIVEN POWERS LIKE MINE! YOU ARE NOTHING!!!"

I dodged Lucy's sloppy attacks punching her as she also dodged. Lucy was still screaming and thrashing her attacks. It almost seemed like...she was heartbroken. "I HATE YOU NATSU DRAGNEEL! I'LL KILL YOU FOR ALL YOU'VE DONE!"

I didn't react to Lucy at all. I somehow kept up with her fast hits also getting a few hits on her. She needs to know the truth or else I'll get mauled, but I finally realized it. After all this time...the Dark One has finally been released.

My Lucy, is gone...
