S U M M A R Y

Have you ever ran from death? Have you truly escaped the pits of darkness?

Death is coming for you because of your betrayal, and there is nothing you can do about it. Death is coming with vengeance by its side, and there is only one thing you both can do: run.

Axel De Donté and Trinity Callen are on the run, and they will do just about everything in their power to get away from the past. They will have to use both their skills and training to survive as they travel across the world; they will have to use their hatred to motivate them to help one another. They will have to push at each other's strengths and weaknesses in order to survive.

Follow them as they journey across the world, exploring their toxic relationship as they escape from Hector De Donte, Deva Callen, and the cartel.

"Why is it that every time I'm mixed up with you and your family bullsh!t, I'm tied to a fucking chair?" I growled as I tried to free my hands that were bound behind me for the umpteenth time. The bastard had the nerve to scoff at my question as he too tried his luck with the thin cords.

"How the fuck is this my fault?" he growled right back, "you were the one that wanted to stop to work with them!"

"We need their help to rescue the girls, you asshole!"

"I told you it was a bad idea going there, yet here we are. I think the blame should fall on you!"

I scowled.

He was tied to the chair behind me as our captors decided to let us sit in the dark, with only a fenced hole above us for air. They'd left us down here for hours, the Italian bastards. As if being tied to a chair with this growling idiot wasn't torture enough.

"Will you stop hitting my hands?" he shrieked.

See what I mean?

I ground my teeth together as I stared up at the sky, an effort to not convince myself to not break his fingers. The last thing we needed was for him to be crying like a bitch when our captors returned.

"Listen, we need some kind of plan if we're going to get out of here alive," I stated.

"We won't need a plan," he grunted out.

My eyebrows furrowed at him.

"I'm not staying strapped to this chair, Axel," I retorted.

"Well, of course not, bella. Why would I leave you in such a state?" a new voice entered the conversation and I looked towards the stone doorway. A young man stepped in, glancing over both of us with his hands tucked neatly in his crisp grey suit. His blonde hair has been tousled as if he has only just rolled out of bed, and his eyes were the softest shade of brown I'd ever seen. He cocked his head to the side and I saw a flicker of curiosity before his eyes met Axel.

"Oh, fuck my life," I heard Axel mutter under his breath.

Yeah, this couldn't be good.
