From outside the hotel room door I heard the thud of a body indicating that my newest victim had been poisoned as planned. After a few more seconds waiting, just to be sure, plastic gloves on, I open the door and walk in making sure to face away from where I knew the security camera is positioned. Kneeling beside the body of the now deceased Politician, I check for any signs of life, no pulse, cold as ice, dead; mission accomplished.

Snapping a picture as evidence of the kill, I slip out of the hotel undetected, get into my car and drive off to the assigned meeting place to collect my bounty. If you hadn't picked it up by now, I am a trained assassin, murder is what puts food on the table and pays the bills, and believe me, when a mission like this is pulled off so perfectly, the pay's really good. Don't fear, I'm on the good side, well, if you count a secret agency that I am forbidden to give any information about, good. The only thing I can say is, my targets always had it coming, my targets are corrupted and corrupting political figures as well as dangerous crime bosses/gang leaders, those are always terrifying fun. I park at the place and putting on my long black coat I walk to the hooded figure leaning against a black van.

"Mission accomplish" I state in a business tone,

"Phone." The figure request, after typing in my password I hand it to him, he nods satisfied,

"Clean as always Black Cat. Well done." The hooded individual compliments, he reveals from behind him a silver suitcase, places it on the ground and clicks it open to reveal my pay. He accurately counts the notes before clicking in shut again and allows me to pick it up.

"Pleasure doing business with you Ronny." I murmur,

"Right back at ya Kat." He replies, Kat being short for Katherine, kind of the root of my code name. With nod from both of us, he gets into the van and I walk to my car. I drive back to the hotel I'm staying at with Another One Bites the Dust by Queen playing, it's a tradition ok..

When I get into my hotel room I drop the keys in the little bowl and walk up to an envelope on the bed on it has a simple sentence "Feel like going to America?", no sender. I'm currently in Brussel Belgium, why not go over to the States, it has been a few years since I've been there, yep, I'm international, lock your doors, I'm kidding, what? Professional Assassin can't have a sense of humour?

I open the letter which reads; "BC Mother needs a rodent catcher, not just a house cat, a tiger." American Code for HQ over there has a dangerous Gang leader on the loose and need the very best to eliminate him, ie; me. Each power country has a different code system, I call HQ over there after burning the letter with a match and a bit of kerosene,

"State your name and purpose." A voice says,

"Black Cat, ready for orange stripes" I state,

"You will have an accomplice miss." The voice informs, oh lord, last time I had an accomplice they ended up getting captured, now that was an annoyance and draw back.

"Understood. Good bye." I accept and hang up,

"This one better not screw this up for me." I mutter under my breath, I plan on having a good night's rest before departing for America so I book in my flight in first class at 11:30am, after a quick shower I retire for the night the money safe in my locked suitcase.

At 11 sharp I'm sitting in the waiting area my suitcase next to me after having depositing my bounty. I was on my phone waiting to board the plane, when a particularly handsome man sits next to me, he's well-dressed I must say. Anyone would have thought he was a person of great power.

"Where are you headed ma'am." He asks politely,

"The United States, yourself?" I reply matching his mannerism,

"Same as you, going home?" He replies,

"I have a house there, home is further south, but closer." I answer,

"Australia?" The man guesses,

"Yes, that's correct, I'm Kath by the way." I introduce holding out a hand to shake, he shakes bac with a charming smile,

"Pleasure to meet you Kath, I'm Rye." He greets as charming as his smile,

"Pleasure's all mine Rye." I politely reply. Our conversation is interrupted by the announcement for my fight to board we both rise as it seems we're on the same flight, turns out we are on the same flight, and close, real close, right behind me close.

We land in LA at 4:20pm sharp, I have 40 minutes to get to HQ. As I collect my suitcase I receive a text 'we have a car waiting for you out the front, be punctual.' As I walk through the airport Rye ends up crossing paths with me again,

"Hello again Kath in a rush?" He asks matching my fast-paced walking,

"Places to be." I answer simply,

"Ah I understand, me too, tight schedule, well, fare well." He replies and meanders off in his own direction. Sure enough, outside waiting for me my ride, I hastily enter the vehicle, as I do we're off.

Punctually I walk to head office and take a seat

"Thank you for coming Kath, we can't afford any mistakes, and your reputation proceeds you." Chief Jackson addresses

"Naturally, so, a crime boss causing you grief, I take catching him is like finding your bearings in pitch black." I answer business toned,

"Precisely." He replies with a quick nod,

"Then enlighten me on why I need an assistant." I question,

"I am aware of your past experiences with someone else on the job, but trust me, you will not regret this decision." Chief assures,

"What's that supposed to mean?" I inquire, he just indicates behind me to the large screen projected, there three files are shown, all with one formidable stamp 'DECEASED'.
