I look from the woman to the crime boss,

"What did she do?" I ask calmly,

"What makes you ask such a question?" He asks sounding a bit impressed,

"Well picking a random woman off the street would be pretty stupid however, if this woman was someone you knew of and knew you, one way or another it'd be easier to get away with her kidnapping and murder. As the people who know her will more than likely either know why exactly and keep their mouths shut for fear of being next, or be blissfully unaware so they can't rat you out, also any sort of error is not tolerated here I picked that much up." I deduct,

"Very clever, you're correct this woman did mess up, she miscounted, cost us a good hundred thousand." The boss explained turning to the woman who we could hear her sobbing under the sack. "Take it off." The boss instructs the man leaning against the wall. He pushes himself off, walks over and whips off the sack,

"Please, please I'm sorry it won't happen again I swear." She begs desperately, I aim the gun at her, the boss smirks,

"Of course it won't my dear, this is going to ensure that." The boss remarks wickedly,

"Please I have a baby, kids, a life a home, pleeeeeeaaase." She begs sobbing uncontrollably,

"Shame, hope you said your good byes." I shrug and pull the trigger, her body slumps over, lifeless, sorry lady but, I have a job to do, and it's going to save many more lives. The boss slow claps,

"You're in Minx, Dylan come." The boss says with a wicked smile at me then beckons over the masked man. He turns to the door and opens it. Dylan and I walk out back into the meeting room. "Friends, welcome our new accomplice Minx." The boss declares and everyone claps, "You can leave without being blindfolded now, as you'll need to be able to see how to get to and from here now." The boss jokes, everyone laughs, I laugh too realising that it was a requirement, he claps me on the shoulder, "You and your brother may leave now." He states, Nate stands up and leads the way out.

"So, you killed the woman." Nate asks once we're back in our shared hotel room,

"For one, he was going to kill me if I didn't, two, the mission comes first." I answer bluntly dropping my jacket onto my bed,

"Did you hesitate?" He asks further,

"Would you be scared if I said no?" I question raising an eyebrow,

"No, just make me mildly concerned." Nate answers,

"Mildly huh?" I repeat pulling out a change of clothes,

"Yeah, been on the job for that long huh?" Nate asks,

"You'll know if and when you get there." I answer before walking into the bathroom to change.

I walk out in a simple yet nice outfit and grab my purse and phone,

"Where are you off to?" Nate asks looking up from his laptop he seemed to have gotten on,

"A bar, I do have conscience that needs reassuring and subduing." I deadpan,

"Possibility of you returning drunk?" Nate asks,

"I wouldn't rule it out." I suggest as I walk out the door.

As I walk out of the elevator I see a familiar at the reception desk,

"Kath, fancy seeing you here." Rye greets walking over,

"Could say the same for you." I reply with a small smile, he chuckles,

"Just checking out hotels in the area, this one must be good as you seem to be staying in it." He charms, aw, adorable, he thinks he can get in, I chuckle to humour him,

"You're a smooth one, aren't you?" I compliment,

"Only to those worthy of my charm." He replies modestly,

"Well, it was nice talking again, but I was headed out and you sound busy." I point out,

"Of course." Rye says with a small bow and steps out of my way, "I trust I'll see you again soon?" He asks as I walk past him,

"Possibly." I shrug and walk out of the building with a small smirk.

I found a pub after walking around for a good ten minutes, good, not too much of a walk back to the hotel. I walk in and seat myself right at the bar,

"What'll be ma'am?" The bartender asks,

"Gimme the best rum you have." I request,

"Rough day miss?" He asks a she pours my drink then slides it over,

"Could say that." I nod and take a swig. Time crept on as I drank, got a refill and repeat, alternating between rum, whiskey and just cause vodka on occasion. Needless to say, I was indeed stumbling my way back to the hotel room. I half stumbled half swung into the room.

"Jan, drunk I take it?" Nate replies not sounding surprised, doubter,

"Don't know what you're on about." I hiccup closing the door behind me, more like leaning myself against it so it would shut,

"Is this a regular thing?" Nate asks closing his laptop,

"She was, she was probably forced." I slur looking off into the distance,

"Pardon?" Nate asks making his way over,

"She probly didn't have a choice, shwas scared outta her widtz." I continue and attempt to walk forward,

"Whoa easy there, jeez I can smell it on your breath how much did you have?" Nate asks hands up ready to support me,

"The usual." I defend,

"Which is how much exactly?" Nate questions further,

"Way, way too much." I answer and try to take another step but lose my balance, Nate was already ready for it and caught me,

"You don't say. I think I gathered as much" He remarks sarcastically supporting me. "Come on, think you need an early night, I mean that with the upmost respect." Nate advises. He half carries half leads me to my bed which he sits me on. I look up at him about to thank him but a red dot on his forehead completely distracts me. I quickly look behind me to see we're right in front of a window, "Jan? Wha-?" Nate starts,

"GET DOWN!" I order and tackle him to the ground just in time as the window shatters and the wall sports a bullet hole where Nate's head once was. He looks at the bullet hole with wide eyes then to me, who ended up on top of him. I roll off him staying low.
