Laura let out a cry of pain as she hit the pavement, the thing had sprung on top of her causing her to fall and hit her head, making her feel a sight dizziness. The thing looked almost human.

Strange unfamiliar marks were carved into it's face and it was larger than an average human-- Like a giant.

It didn't look like anything she'd ever seen before. She tried rolling out from under the monster to get to her feet, but she couldn't move under the crushing weight of the giant on top of her.

She lifted her knee with all the force she could, kneeing it's crotch area. It made an inhumane noise, like a high-pitched, Earsplitting screech.

Laura Struggled, repeating the movement before her chance came to get free.

She scrambled to her feet and tried to make a run for it before the giants grip closed tightly around her wrist.

Laura screamed, still running to slip free, but the grip was too tight. It pulled her back towards itself and made a muffled kind of talking noise that Laura didn't quite pick up.

Suddenly a a thin needle-point-- sword maybe?-- slid through the monster holding onto Laura, barely grazing her side.

She squeezed her eyes shut, thinking this is it. As a black-ish black spilled onto her hot pink tank.

'wait. . . what?'  She thought.

The Giant was thrown into a wall and Laura saw a faint shadow of a boy, holding the giants hands behind it's back.

He said something harsh in it's ear before holding up the clear, glowing sword in his hand and piercing the monsters heart.

Laura covered her mouth in shock, looking in every direction but the dying thing that had landed on the ground.

The boy stepped out of the shadows and suddenly she realized how-- beautiful he was.

The moonlight reflected his pale blonde hair, he had a sly smile on his lips as he crossed his arms across his chest, which she then noticed how he was dressed all in black and the same marks as the giant had on his face, but a variety of different ones peaking out from his black v-neck.

The darkness nearly concealed the color of his chestnut eyes.

She hadn't realized how long she'd been staring at the boy in front of her. His smirk grew and he neared her.

Laura backed into the wall.

"W--what was that?" She stuttered and the blonde stopped a few feet in front of her.

"That was a Ravener." He answered and Laura's face twisted in confusion. 'What the hell is a Ravener?' She thought and Suddenly he answered as if he read her mind.

"When someone marks a Mundane--Multiple times, I might add-- they go crazy, No, insane. And they go around attacking who their masters tell them to." He explained.

Laura held back the temptation to ask more question that swirled throughout her mind.

So, instead of asking all the questions with complicated answers, she figured she'd answer the easiest.

"Who... Who are you?" She asked quietly, uncomfortable in the stunning strangers presence.

"I'm Ross. Ross Lynch." The boy--Ross-- Said, extending his hand out to Laura, who took it gradually. His hand was warm and soft for a boy who'd just beaten something like a-- What was it again? A ravener.

Laura fought back the urge to smile at Ross, there was just something about him.

She slowly removed her hand from his grasp as the Movie theatre door flew open and RIker walked out.

Riker looked around until he finally saw Laura and her shirt blackened from the raveners blood.

He ran over to her in a swift motion, getting ready to pull her into his arms but Laura put her hands in front of her to stop him.

He gave her a saddened look before she gestured to the stain on her shirt.

"Laura, what happened to you?" He asked, sounding like the image in front of him had knocked the breath out of him.

"It was nothing.." Laura trailed off, recalling the previous events and finding Ross' eyes. She realized Riker and Ross could be brothers, But RIker looked so-- Innocent. Like her.

"Laura... Laura.." RIker put his hands on her shoulders making her look at him. "What are you looking at?" He then decided to follow her eyes to see nothing. Nothing but the empty alleyway.

"Y-You can't see him? Laura asked, looking between the two.

"Who?" RIker asked, raising his eyebrow in confusion. Laura shook her head.

"N-no one. I hit my head pretty hard I was probably just seeing thin-" RIker cut her off in the middle of her explanation.

"You hit your head? We should take you to a-"

"No, Riker. I just want to sleep. Let's go home." She said, excusing herself, RIker following close behind.

Laura looked over her shoulder, but Ross had been swallowed by the shadows.

She sighed as she turned to cross the street and got into RIker's car.

"You're.. early." Vanessa said suspiciously.

Laura had done her best at covering up the stain by buttoning up her Jean jacket.

"Yeah.. I uh, Got sick during the move." She said, not wanting to talk to anyone about what had happened.

What if they thought she was crazy? Or... maybe this was the reason Vanessa was so damn protective.

"Oh, well feel better." Vanessa said, dismissing Laura to her room.

Laura got to her room quickly and locked the door while stripping off her ruined pink tank, stuffing it in the trash and putting on her PJs.

She bounced on her bed, covering herself with blankets and turning out the light drifting off to nightmare filled sleep.
