It was around 10:00 AM when I decided to continue walking towards the U.S. base in Kabul. Upon arrival I was stopped by the bases MPs, they asked where I was coming from, and where the rest of my squadron was. I told them the events of two days ago and they allowed to come into the base. While I was in the base I had spent a few hours alone in the barracks before I decided to come out. I overheard the soldiers talking about a recent victory in Musil. At around midnight that night I fell asleep in the bunk.

I was woken up by the sound of an explosion. The Taliban were attacking again. I immediately grabbed my pistol and a rifle from the armory. But the attack was already over. Me and a few other soldiers, in particular a strange man named Corporal. Seth White. He himself was the lone survivor of his own squadron. Me, Seth and three other Marines from the base were picked up by a reinforcement truck. We were taken to the recently liberated town of Musil. Only to find out it had been retaken by the Taliban forces. We knew we had to retake it if any of us were getting home alive.
