Gemma: a caring girl, who never wanted anything more for herself than to be happy and make those around her happy. She was quiet, speaking only when she had to, for that sort of pent up fear of offending those around her. She was often left alone by many, but those who befriended her made a friend for life.
She was very strict with herself, in many respects, but all with good intentions. For she was training to be a professional dancer, wanting nothing but to dance. She trained most days and any other day she stuck to a punishing fitness schedule. But that didn't stop her making time for her friends.
If you asked any of her friends, they'd say they'd lost count of the number of times that she'd been a listening ear for one of them, or a shoulder to cry on. Besides her friends and family though, she was quiet an introverted girl.
But she did have one desire, not uncommon to many girls her age and that was for love. Not the passing high school love, but true love, love that lasted. You're never to old to believe in fairytales, she used to always say and she most certainly wanted her own.
One where a handsome prince comes and sweeps her off to some magical kingdom. One where she could dance forever, without having to worry about providing for her family or herself in the future. One where she wouldn't have to worry about what people thought, it would just be her, her prince and her friends. One with a happy ever after.
But fairytales like that don't come to people like Gemma, although the should, for they most certainly deserve them. For she was ordinary, or as ordinary can be, with only her dancing to set her apart from others. She was often forgotten, slipped into the background as many of the kindest people were. But not to fear, for something was looming around the corner for her. Something that could change her life forever if she took the opportunity with both hands and held tight, tighter than ever.
This character is for the lovely ForeverloveHT who has generally been amazing since I started writing. I really hope all of you enjoy the story, but especially her.
