I remember distinctly, something Dakota said that described exactly what I am feeling right now. She said to me smiling with a bittersweet Mona Lisa smile and a twinge of sadness.
"Dani, there is one thing I have learned from being Human and living on a planet full of people stuck on the same road the same street as everyone. Just walking and walking trying to reach for that one thing that makes them happy, that one thing that will help them live peacefully. While they take one pathway or another, me I would rather look farther beyond the path that life has narrowed for us."
She was one of those people who always had at least one monologue or rant in each conversation. And for me it wasn't like that, I was fine with the pathway. it was calm and serene following in peoples footsteps or even behind the crowd was fine with me. but now as I think about it I wonder if all that aimless wandering ever got me anywhere.I was on the same path never thinking of otherwise until she left me and i had no other choice but to find another path...
"Dani?"I slowly looked away from my staring contest with the wall, and frowned looking around trying to find who stole me from my daydream.
"Dani?!" I looked over to find Jonah, looking at me with actual sincere concern.
"Sorry, I was miles away." Jonah grinned.
"I know what you mean, But don't you mean light years away?" I looked at him, confusion riddled over my face in plain bright colors.
He smiled. then pointed to the chapter of my open book. Its first words were light years away. very much like I had been.
