Kuza clung to Angelo's back as they walked. He felt sick and couldn't walk straight. Angelo held Ricky's hand, gently squeezing his hand. The small gargoyle as concerned for his friend. He kept looking back at Ryan, wanting to hold him.
"You're okay." Angelo whispered. "You're both okay. Kuza just has a little cold that's all."
"But it's warm!"
"Human cold." Angelo chuckled. "Humans have many diseases and we have yet to clean them all out. If a little demon gets a human disease they're gonna be sicker than normal. It doesn't last long but it's still terrible."
"Why is he warm?!"
"He has a fever. It means he has an infection an..."
"Infection?! We have to fix it!"
"You're gonna make him freak out Ricky. He needs to rest."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes little gargoyle. Nothing is going to happen to him." Angelo whispered. He quickly turned, eyes wide at the sigh of a large black dog. Small tears filled his eyes as the dog limped towards him.
"What's that?" Kuza murmured. "It's too small to... to be a wolf."
"Chris!" Angelo cried. He quickly walked towards him, not wanting Kuza to fall off. The dog slowly changed, a man on his knees in its place. "Christopher Cerulli! You scared the shit out of me!"
"Why... Why do you have kids with you?" Chris frowned, looking up at him.
"They're my babies now." Angelo whispered as he pulled the man to his feet. "I'm going to kill you."
"You love me baby." Chris husked, his face contorting into a grimace of pain. "There's a-a poacher. We have to protect the... Ah!" Chris cried. He fell against Angelo's chest, a small knife in his lower back.
"Chris!" Angelo shrieked, his eyes wide. He didn't notice till it was too late. A poacher made its way to them.
"Ang!" Kuza weakly cried as he was torn from the angels back. The poacher held a knife to Kuza's theist, stopping Angelo from going near.
"Let him go. You do not need him." Angelo growled. "He's mine!"
The poacher tilted its head. He ignore the angel as he brought the blade up to the base of Kuza's smaller horns. Kuza let out a loud scream as the poacher fluently cut the horn off. He was numb as the other was taken off, thrown to the ground afterwards. He felt the creature push the blade to one of his curved horns, tending for the pain.
Kuza looked up, frowning when he saw Ricky standing above him. He was crouched, obviously protecting him. Ricky growled forcing the poacher to leave with the two horns he had taken. Kuza weakly gripped Ryan's leg, black dots forming in his vision.
"Ricky..." He whispered, not able to finish his sentence as he passed out.
"Step back Ricky." Angelo growled. He pulled Kuza's head to his lap, blood trickling steadily out the two wounds on top his head. Angelo's hand had a red glowing hue to it as he pressed it against the bleeding wounds.
"What about him?" Ricky asked, pointing at Chris.
"I can fix him in a second. Kuza will die if I don't heal him." Angelo muttered. "Do me a favor and come hold his head up. The bleeding stopped but I can't have him moving till I can see if he's going to be... Sane."
Angelo and Ricky traded spots. Angelo rushed to Chris. He pulled the blade out the man's back, easily healing him. He chuckled as the pink scar on his back. "Don't laugh." Chris grumbled.
"Taken down by a poacher." Angelo chuckled. He helped Chris stand, smiling at him. "Don't leave me again."
"I love you." Chris whispered.
"I love you too. My babies are hurt."
"Let's take care of that." Chris chuckled. He gently lifted Kuza, supporting the demon's head. "He'll be fine. Let's fine a place to sleep and wait for him to wake up."
"Who are you?" Ricky whispered.
"I'm Chris."
"I'm Ricky. That's Kuza, don't hurt him. He's my... Favorite friend."
"I understand little one. Let's go okay? He needs a nice bed to rest in." Ricky nodded, following close to Chris.
