"So he's back"

It's been a week since the letter and since Layla said she didn't want to see Lucas. I raised a strong girl because it hasn't changed anything about her, I guess you can say she's a mini me with Lucas' eyes. I and Riley took the kids out to the park.(Outfit above)

"Did you tell him that Layla doesn't want to meet him," Riley asked and I shook my head.

"Maya? Riley?" I looked up to be face to face with Lucas Friar. "Oh my god I can't believe this." He exclaimed and picked my up to hug him but I didn't hug back. He placed me down and kissed my cheek. "I missed you." He said and I sat down looking to see where Toby and Layla went.

"Cool. So I'm going to push the kids on the swings if you need me." Riley said walking away.

"Which one is ours?" He asked looking over at Riley pushing the 2 kids.

"Which one do you think Huckleberry," I said. Like come on there's a brunette and a blonde.

"I had a girl." He said looking at me. "What's her name?"

"Layla," I said getting up he followed me.

"Mommy look I'm swinging super high!" Layla yelled the smile on her face was literally her curly hair flying in the wind, something she picked up from Lucas's side was the curly hair.

"Hi, Layla," Lucas said standing next to me.

"Hi, who are you?" She asked looking him in the eye.

"I'm your dad. Lucas Friar." He said he expression went from happy to bland.

"Oh, so you're the guy that left my mommy. In other words my sperm donor" She said and we were all taken back by what she said.

"Layla where'd did you get that from?" Riley scolded

"I heard you and mommy talking yesterday and you said my daddy was just my sperm doner. Whatever that means" She said looking at Riley. My phone beeped and I looked at the message.

Hey, my parents are coming over for dinner tonight. Pick up some groceries on the way home, please. Oh and I ran into Lucas and I invited him please don't kill me

"We have to get going. Huckleberry over here and Farkle parents are coming over for dinner courtesy of you fiancé." I said

I got our stuff together and headed to the car with Lucas following behind me and Layla.

"I'll see you guys later. I love you, Layla." Lucas said down to Layla's height.

"Ok, whatever." She said getting into the car.

"Bye Maya I'll see you later." He said pulling me into a hug that I didn't return.

"Bye friar," I said getting into the passenger seat of our car. I look at Lucas one last time before Riley pulls out of the park and heading to the nearest grocery store.

When we got home I helped Riley start dinner, we were having mashed potatoes, mac, and cheese, salad, and ham. After we were done I got Layla showered and dressed. When Mr and Mrs.Minkus come over for dinner we dress semi fancy. I got ready I didn't want to go out mainly because Lucas was coming over.

I set the table and put the food on the table. The doorbell rang just as I put the center piece on the table. I looked at the table one last time before opening door revealing Mr and Mrs. Minkus. "Hello Mr and Mrs Minkus." I greeted with a smile.

"Hello Maya. How many times do i have to tell you, pleade call us Jennifer and Stewart." Jennifer  said.  I nodded and the kids ran down stairs.

"Grandma, grandpa!" The kids yelled Layla has 3 of each the that she calls her grandparents and they all love it. They has bags with them meaning the kids had gotten some presents.

A few minutes later Lucas had arrived. Dressed like the cowboy he really is.

"Hey Maya, you look wow." He said which caused me to blush I turned away and let him in the house. I guided him to the dining room where we are all about to start eating dinner.

Lucas sat between me and Layla which Layla didn't even protest because she hadn't said anything the entire dinner.

Once dinner was over Jennifer and Stewart had left Riley and Farkle were cleaning up the kitchen because tonight was my night to get the kids ready for bed because he had school in the morning.

"Hey, Maya before I go. Can I take you out for breakfast tomorrow morning?" He asked I had worked at 9 but it was also my day for a carpool to take the kids plus jet and Nikki to school.

"Um yeah but I have to be before 9 cause I have work," I said

"How about at 8?" He asked I nodded. "Okay, I'll meet you at Topanga's." I nodded and walked him out. I locked the door to get the kids showered, in their pajamas and in bed.

I told toby goodnight and went into Layla's room. "So he's back?" She asked the minute I came in

"Yes," I said and she nodded. "But hey that doesn't change anything. It won't change how I feel about you because you know I always love you. If you don't want him in your life, I will not ever force you to." I said and she smiled.

"Okay, goodnight mommy. I love you. To the moon and back." She said.

"Even when it feels like were light years away." I kissed her forehead and shut off her lights. I got myself ready for bed, time to face Lucas Friar tomorrow.
