Moana's POV:

It's been four years since I last saw Maui. Four years since I last saw the love of my life. He hadn't even bothered to tell me why he left, he just, did. It was so sudden, and all I had for comfort was a silly note on my desk.

Moana,
I'm sorry you to have to hear it this way, but I had to leave. I don't know when or if I'll be back, being a demigod I gotta answer certain calls, and if I told you in person you would have forced me to take you with, but I can't, it's way to dangerous, even for a princess like you. I hope to see you soon, there's still something I have yet to tell you.
-Maui

I reread the letter for the millionth time already, hoping maybe there'd be an answer or clue to where he had gone, how I could find him. I sighed, standing up and placing the folded letter back in the locket Maui gave me years ago, a year after our first meeting, he gave me a locket apperantly made by the gods to fit anything, and so far it's worked. It's fit fruit, coconuts, and now, a tiny little letter. I've kept it right next to my Grandma's necklace, never taking it off since he left.

I walked down from my home, looking around my village. Everyone was tending to their normal schedule. Sure, we were voyagers alright, but we always come back here to keep the village in tact, and we haven't left since Maui did, in case he comes back, which I doubt, he might just be dead. The thought immediately brought tears to my eyes and I wanted to dismiss it, but what other explanation would there be? Four years is a long time to be gone, he's most likely moved in to the netherworld with my grandma, watching over me like always.

I sighed, walking down the path to the sea, wanting to talk to the ocean. I made it to the beach and got on a boat, sailing off past the reef, before letting the ocean take me anywhere. I sat down at the end of my boat, and let the tears fall again, holding my head in my hands. I could see the blue light through my closed eyelids as the ocean went up to greet me.

"O-Ocean, I don't know what to do... Why hasn't he come back? Why did he leave? Is he... D-Dead?" Saying it aloud made me cry harder, as the ocean randomly spit water into my face. I looked up, before I could say anything, the ocean moved in a head shaking no gesture. "H-He's... Not dead?" I asked, hope rising in my heart as the ocean nodded. "How could you know? Do you know where he is??" I asked, the ocean nodded once again, and I immediately stood up. "T-Take me to him! Please!" I exclaimed.

The ocean hesitated, before nodding and picking me up, making us swim underneath the water at a fast speed, heading north. We went fast, the whole time I was smiling, unable to believe that I was about to see my demigod again. Soon, we popped up to the surface, I thought the ocean was just giving me water, but instead I saw a small boat up ahead, and someone laying inside it. "I-Is that..?" I trailed off, the ocean nodded. Joy filled my heart, as I stared, "Take me to the boat." I whispered quietly, and the ocean slowly did what I asked, placing me on the boat. And sure enough, there he was.

My demigod.

I started crying as he lay there, fear started to pulse through me. "Y-You said he wasn't dead!" I said, the water seemed to roll its eyes before spitting water in Maui's face, he immediately sat up, coughing and spitting out water. "HEY! I said take me to Moana, not rudely wake me up!" He exclaimed, the ocean pointed my way. He looked over, and his eyes widened, mine did too. "...M-Moana?" He questioned, joy once again filled my heart and pumped through my veins.

"MAUI!!!" I shouted, jumping into his arms and holding onto his neck for dear life, as if he'd disappear the second I let him go. Tears fell down my face, as he hugged me just as, if not tighter. "Moana! What are you doing here??" He asked, I let go, "The ocean took me here. Which is good, because you deserve one of these." I replied, "One of wha- OWWW!" He exclaimed as I kicked him in the shin. "WHAT WAS THAT?!" He exclaimed.
