Moana's POV:

I walked down the shoreline of the beach, everyone was preparing to set sail once again, we had just finished gathering a few materials from Montinui since we were close to it, and now I was just walking and going through my past memories of my village. It hadn't been that long since I went with Maui to Tefiti and restored the heart, at least to me it hadn't.

It had been almost a year, and literally everyone is talking about it. I can't go to a different village without being bombarded with questions. Some people even made the story to where I was also a demigod, well, demigoddess, but whatever. As I was thinking, I heard the familiar caw of my best friend, and immediately a smile grew on my face, and the same feelings I've been getting since we got back from Tefiti emerged in my stomach and heart, like butterflies invaded my body.

Maui landed right in front of me and turned into his human self, a smile on his face. "Hey Curls, how ya been?" He asked. "Maui! I've missed you!" I said, giving him a hug. He seemed surprised, like he was with any human contact, but he wrapped his arms around me soon enough, careful not to accidentally crush my body with his demigod strength. Soon he put me down and sent me a smile. "So, what you doing back here?" He asked.

"Just, visiting some old memories, it's always nice to come back to the island." I replied, as I walked over to the sea, sitting down and stepping my toes into it. "I know how you feel, sometimes I visit the island you found me on, for the sake of the memory of when we first met." He said, sitting next to me. I chuckled, "Oh yeah, when you tried locking me in a cave, those are real friendships there." I said, giggling when he rolled his eyes.

"To be fair, you were pretty annoying." He said, I glared at him and he chuckled. "Please, like you were any less." I said, as I started singing that "Your Welcome" Song he had sang to me so long ago. He laughed at my terrible impression of his voice. "Please, that song was- and still is, awesome." He said. "Yeah sure, it showed me what a self centered jerk you were." I said, nudging him with my shoulder, though he didn't move an inch.

"I'm better now though, right?" He asked, looking over at me. "Well, you still brag about yourself a lot, and your still pretty self centered when it comes to attention, so I guess you the same." I said, his face fell, and I giggled. "But, you wouldn't be my favorite demigod if you were some considerate weirdo." I said, leaning my head on his shoulder, "So in a way, you have gotten better. A lot better." I added.

I looked up to him, he was blushing lightly, and cleared his throat. "Well, you have changed a lot to, Curly. Miss Cheif of the village, voyaging across the sea, island after island. You aren't that little kid I met a year ago anymore, you've matured a lot." He said, smiling at me. I returned his smile, "Thanks Maui." I said. There was a bit of comforting silence, before I chuckled a bit. "What's so funny?" He asked.

"Well, I was just thinking about Tamatoa's song, at least yours was better then that." I said, lifting my head up to look at him with a giggle. "Oh yeah, but he did have a way of rhyming, props to him in that." He laughed, "I still haven't visited him since, I'm a little nervous, first I ripped his leg off, then I steal something from him, I don't think we're on good pages anymore." He said with a nervous chuckle. "Well, you might get along better with him than Tefiti, you stole her heart, literally." I said with a giggle.

"Hey, she won't do much about it, she's to kind, she's the giver of life itself!" Maui replied. "Well, it still wasn't cool." I said. "I apologized!" He said, defending himself. "Plus, I only did it for you humans, if anything it's your fault." He added, I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, sure, you can believe that, why not." I said. "Well, at least it was figured out, I still can't believe I accidentally cut of Tefitis hand twice without even realizing it." He said, I giggled.

"I'm glad her Te Ka form could grow it back, or it would have been a lot more difficult." I said. "Yeah, she rests on her hands, can you imagine how the island would look without it?" He said, "She'd like, be laying on her back or something instead." I said, giggling at the image in my head.

"Well, I'm just glad with all the mishaps we've come out of it in one piece." He said. "Yeah, I don't think I would of been able to do it without you, how many times have you saved my life now? Four? Five?" I asked, he rolled his eyes. "Please, I'm a demigod, it's my job." He said, "Plus, it's not like you haven't saved me before to. Again, the Tamatao incident? If it weren't for your quick thinking, I would of been crab chow." He said.

"Yeah, but you saved me then too, even if it was just by being a distraction." I said. "I've heard he's actually gone vegetarian." Maui said. "Really? So would that be what, like, eating the grass aloft the floor or something?" I asked, "Honestly, I have no clue, it's just a rumor I heard, again, a little to nervous to visit him and see for myself." He said, I giggled.

"Yeah, we have a lot of great memories, don't we Maui?" I asked, he nodded. "We sure do, even after the little trip we took, how many times have you forced me to bring you with when I save the world?" He asked, I rolled my eyes. "Force? Your the one who asked if I wanted to go! Who wouldn't say yes to something like that?" I asked. "Oh, I don't know, someone who's actually sane." Maui replied.

"Well, lucky for you, I'm not sane." I said. Suddenly, I felt Maui pull me closer to him, making me blush. "I wouldn't have it any other way, Curly." He said, I smiled, once again leaning my head on his shoulder.
