CSI: Cyber Fanfiction

Ch 3

It seemed like years have passed since we took down the trio. Having a lot of cases helps out plus school, sports, catching up with mom and finding time for my gorgeous boyfriend. All of it has helped me forget about everything. No more nightmares, waking up screaming or sweating in my sleep. Well it lasted maybe a year before we got another case coming across my desk.

Once I'm at my desk and have settled in I open the case and first thing I see is the bloody gory pictures of a female close to my age. She had been mutilated the same way as some of the other girls. I scream on the top of my lungs throwing the case across the room. My mother and Elijah both come flying in to me curled up in a ball crying under my desk and the case scattered every where.

"What is wrong sweetheart?" My mother asked me as Elijah picks up the folder and all the contents.

"It's happening again," I reply. "I don't know how they are doing it from the inside but they are doing it and this time the victims are mutilated more than ever."

As my mom briefs the president about the case, I grab my to go bag and start heading out. The guard in front of my door grabs my wrist and pulls me back to see where I was going but I reacted to fast and knocked him out cold with one swing to the head. I then ran out without looking back. If I did I would not be able to leave. I must protect them and put a shit ton of distance between me and the ones I love.

"WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? WE NEED HER TO HELP SOLVE THE CASE!!!" I scream while trying to find a clue to where my daughter may have gone. 

"I tried to stop her but man is she good," the security guard said as he holds ice to his bruised face.

"She took you out with one punch. That is not good, that was you being stupid," Elijha replied. 

Everyone else was trying to hack her phone and track her down. She had made it very difficult to do so. Her cellphone had the best defenses any of our white hats have ever seen before.

"I do not even know where to start," Raven said in frustration. 

"Were does it even end?" Krummy asked.

"It looks like it is one big loop. Shit she is good," Raven responded.

I went back to her office to try her laptop and that is when I realized she took it with her. It normally is on her desk but there was a clean spot surrounded by dust where it normally is. 

"Well we are screwed now. Her laptop is missing and no one can hack her phone. She is probably working on her defenses now with her laptop," I say to Elijah  as he walks to me. 

"You know she wouldn't leave it here for us to have it. She may have left to protect us all," He explains. 

"OK. Let us try to figure out who this is and why they showed up now," I say as I walk out.

A few minutes later we are at the scene and the paparazzi stood there waiting for us to show up. Knowing the case they would want to talk to my daughter since she was the one who cracked it the last time. I had to figure out something to say so they don't know she ran away but she isn't on the case at the moment. 

"Avery. I got them and you go to the crime scene and figure out what is the same versus what is different," Elijha tells me.

"Thank you," I reply as we get out of the car.

After about twenty minutes for looking at the crime scene I see a memory card shoved inside the  victims nose. I grab it, tagged it, bagged it and had them send it to my team. I made sure they knew to wear gloves while handling it just in case the murders prints were on it. 

"The chip is the only thing that is different," I say as we get back into the car.

"Well that helps. I wonder what is on it," he responds as we head back to the office.

"I found these pictures that have extra data in them. Once I figured out what parts of each picture was holding the extra crap, I  dragged it out and BAM!! These videos of her are embedded into the pics. She was toarchered more than she has told us. Well at least more than she can remember anyway," Raven explains to me.

"I could not even start watching the videos. The audio makes it all worse. Do not watch them if you ever want to be innocent. Trust me Avery," Krummy says.

"Well I have to watch these to know what she went through and help her become better than this. This is never going to be her let alone was her. That is not my baby girl that we all know. That is a scared little girl who went through the worst thing ever. She was scared and did what she had to do to survive," I say. "Keep watching till we figure out who is the one who did this. We need to know now."

As I walk away everything shuts off. It takes a few minutes for the power to get back on but when it does all of what we had on the case is gone. It all just disappeared and no trace evidence of who went in and stole it all. 

"Find out where the power outage came from. I know who did it and why but e need the where. NOW!!!!" I yell.
