Me and Cato were last to arrive at Beacon cliff. Once we got there Professor Ozpin began a short speech.
"Greetings Students, welcome to the event that will decide your team. To start would everyone please step on a square with an x on it."
I stepped on the square closest to me.
"Good" he said "Today I will be launching you off this cliff".
Silence.
"Your joking right" said a girl.
"No, I'm afraid I am not" he said
"Is there a certain way we should be landing?" Asked a boy
"No" said Ozpin
"So we're falling off the cliff" I said
"Yes" said ozpin "Yes you will"
"And if we fall off the cliff wrong?" Asked Cato
"Then, you die." He answered
"EPIC!" I squealed.
"I'm glad your enthusiastic" he said. "The first person you make eye contact with is going to be your teammate." He said.
"It will be up to you to think up a landing strategy. I have placed eight chess pieces in the forest. your task is to find one with your new teammate, and then safely return here. There are many creatures of grimm in the forest your about to enter so be careful. With that being said I wish you the best of luck"
"You will all be launched in 3 seconds" Glinda said

I looked at Cato and smirked
"2"
"Good luck brownie" he said
"1!"
"Don't need it!" I whispered and we were launched off the cliff.
------------------------------------------------------ Authors Note Sorry this chapter is so short. I have a lot of school work right now. You should probably expect the next chapter on Tuesday the 14. I'm most likely having a snow day then, so after I finish shoveling snow, I can spend the rest of the day writing.
