Aphmau's "Tail"

Saved??

I never slept, never ate, never moved.
As the days went by, I felt weaker and weaker. Aaron was always there though. We cried together most of the time, for we feared that we would never escape. That our lives were coming to a close.

We heard banging and yelling. People flooding in. The cage where we were kept being dragged. I felt my tender skin and scales pressed against the cold metal bars. The pain caused me to black out.

I awoke to Aaron at my side. I was in a strange building with more humans.
I felt like screaming, but I didn't have the strength to.

"Aphmau, they're here to help you" he said stroking my arm to comfort me

After a while I felt much more alive and able to move. Then I heard a splash. My body felt lighter and colder. But it was a good feeling. I blinked open my eyes to see clear blue water. I swam around happily until I saw people outside. I was in a glass tank. Why. Why did Aaron tell me they were here to help me?

I swam up to the surface to see Aaron's eyes locked onto me. He looked worried.

"Aphmau, there you are" he smiled down at me
"Aaron why am I here, I want to go back home" I told him sternly
" You have to stay here for the night, I'm sorry" he said, he looked away
" Well if it's only one night" I smiled at him

He decided to stay with me. He dressed in a bathing suit and jumped into the water with me. People on the other side of the glass observed us often. Always writing down notes. I never really payed much attention to them when Aaron was around though.

"The night sky is so pretty" Aaron said to me

We were laying on pool floaties while staring at the 11:00 sky.

"I agree, I've never seen it like this before" I told him

I turned to see his beautiful face. It seemed to glitter with the Stars. I smiled to myself. He turned to face me.

"What" he giggled
"Nothing" I said, whipping my head around I felt my face heat up
"Hey Aphmau" he said smoothly
"Ya" I said back
"I think I like you" he stuttered, I felt him staring at me
"I like you too" I turned and blushed back
"I-i mean like-lik.." I interupted him
"I know" I said to him

He blushed and looked back at the sky.
