Keith.

After collecting my bags from baggage claim I walked to the front of the airport.

Home sweet home.

I'm originally from Atlanta but I moved to California when I turned 21, once I finished college. Its been 4 long years and now I'm back, for good.

The reason I came back is for my mom. Her husband just recently passed from lung cancer and she's taking it pretty hard. As me being her oldest child, I have to support her 100%.

When I got to the front, I sat my bags down and waited for my Uber to arrive.

My phone started ringing. I pulled it out my pocket and it was my mom calling.

I hit the answer button and placed my phone to my ear.

"Hey ma."

"Hi honey, are you settled in yet?"

"Naw I actually just landed."

"You really don't know how happy I am about you coming back home. I really appreciate it, thank you."

"Ma, you don't have to thank me. You know I'm always there for you."

"So where are you working? Did you find an apartment?"

"I got an interview in a couple days at a barbershop and yeah I found a place."

"Do you need anything? Money or something?"

"I'm good ma, I got a nice amount in my savings. My über here, I'll be over there later On once I get unpacked."

"Okay, I love you and thank you Keith."

"Ma stop thanking me. I love you, talk to you later."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye."

I hung up my phone and slipped into my jogging pants pocket. Grabbing my luggage carrier, I pushed it to the truck. The driver got out and helped me pack my things up. After that we both climbed in and headed to my new place.

I'm kind of excited about being back home. Things were good back in LA but it's nothing like being here. Plus I get to be far away from my crazy ex girlfriend. Sometimes we confuse love over lust. That was my issue with her.

She was crazy in love with my ass, literally. And I didn't feel the same way. I broke up with her before I decided to move here.

After dealing with that psycho, I think I need a break from relationships.

Once I finally got settled in my new place, I took a seat in the middle of my empty living room. I gotta hurry up and get furniture in here, it ain't cool sleeping on the floor. Maybe I'll take my mom with me to pick some stuff out, I know she needs to get out the house. Probably take her to dinner too.

I grabbed my phone and got ready to call her, but before I could, one of my childhood friends Algee's call came through.

"Yo, what's good bro?" I answered.
