Molly and Sherlock resumed normal activities like they did before the pregnancy and declarations of love. Sherlock took on new cases and molly worked when she could but mostly did paperwork, staying out of the morgue and lab.
He started going back to the regular sociopath that he originally was and Molly was back to the same old Molly with the occasional mood swings. The relationship between them remained secret at least until Molly began showing more. John knew about them but he was the only one .
Molly was to visit her OB today and was questioning weather she should ask Sherlock to come . Today was the day she heard the heartbeats and she felt he should be able to be there. So why was it so hard to ask him? Maybe because she thought he wouldn't care. I mean sure he is willing to be the father he needs to be but does he really care about everything else?
Molly walked through the door to her doctors office having sent a text to Sherlock 10 minutes earlier about the appointment. She doubted that he would show but she still held out hope .
She waited in the waiting room for 20 minutes until finally they called her back . She became sad as she realized Sherlock wasn't coming.
They got her set up on the table and the doctor came in to do the ultrasound. As she raised her shirt and he applied the gel the door swung open. There he was.....Sherlock..... out of breath and wind swept dark curls. "Did I make it? " He asked quickly as he saw the doctor.
The doctor looked at him then back at Molly. "He's the father." Was all Molly said as she desperately tried to hide her excitement and joy of seeing Sherlock had made it. The doctor nodded and turned on the screen . He placed the wand over Molly's stomach and the picture appeared.
Sherlock felt his heart stop as he heard two rapidly beating hearts and saw them on the screen. He was feeling something altogether new as he looked at the babies on the screen. His eyes began to tear and he smiled . He did this ......they did this. These two little humans were the result of his love for Molly Hooper and he realized now that he needed to become a better man for his family . He needed to tell everyone and make it official about his and Molly's relationship he wanted to shout to the world that these were his children.
"Sherlock ......are you alright? " Molly asked as she saw the look of amazement and love on his face.
"I ....I'm fine ....it's just.... I've never felt so happy in my life . Maybe I'm human after all. " Sherlock said as he grabbed Molly's hand and gave her a loving smile.
