The sunrise takes the darkness away
but only for a short time,
Not long before the sun will set again,
And the darkness will sink in,
The darkness never truly leaves,
For it is woven in me,
Sometimes it's in my heart,
Sometimes it's in my mind,
It's with me all the time,
Even when the sun is shining bright,
The darkness is there beating me
down with all its might,
I no longer feel the warmth from the sun,
I only feel the cold of the dark reaching
for my hand,
Enticing me with this so called promise land,
Saying don't be afraid
you'll be ok.
Just let me stay with you
for one more day
- I'm choking
